Winter Mods - a list

Sounds like a good list. I plan to go through mine to check the basics (grounds etc), then might add pro taper bars + PE mounts and a wave front rotor.

+ Fix clutch cable oil leak for good (been battling it for 2 seasons now [mad]);
+ Re-balance wheels, re-set suspension properly;
Mods (depends on funds):
+ GPR stabilizer;
+ Tail lift;
+ Paint my seat rails and redo my fender eliminator;
+ Plastics wrap;
+ Professional dyno tune instead my pity ecmspy tune;

Madstad windscreen. Also interested in options to increase bar height slightly. I found out simple 2" risers were going to cost me $400-500 for new cables, etc. Mirrors that don't vibrate like my electric toothbrush.

Okay so does anyone know which gasket kits fit the 08? I cannot find a kit that says it fits anywhere. Any help greatly appreciated.

Have to bump this one - looking for what gasket sets fit an 08 XB12. All charts I can find do not list anything newer than 07. Help *greatly* appreciated.

Full set - top and. Again I need to know what the gasket kit numbers are - just saying "cometic has some" does nothing as I have not seen an 08 gasket set by anyone anywhere. Links, please.

Kit #17196 has rocker box up for all year models. I know it's kind of a waste but everything is there. I just bought this and I only used like 4 gaskets and the bolt gaskets out of the huge bundle that's in the box. Mine's an '07 xb12, not sure if your gaskets are the same. These are all Harley products, but the good updated ones I believe. I don't think Cometic makes anything for 07+ year models.

Maybe ebay the rest...? Hope this helps.

you can use the cometic gasket set, I think the only thing that is different is the cam cover gasket, but I'm not entirely sure that's actually different.

It looks like most of your guys' mods are bolt on. Isn't anyone doing any fabrication, one off work on their bikes?

I need to refine/finish my single sided xb swing arm. I made a sprocket carrier and sprocket last weekend and started making a piece to fill in the swing arm this weekend.

I've got the S1 tore apart for a suspension rebuild, rear rocker leak, and repaint among a total overlook from front to back. I bought this bike this fall and only put on 200 miles and have been finding a lot wrong with it. The last person who worked on it shouldn't have been working on it.

I fixed the blast this summer, bad injector, so that's good to go. It's been broke for over a year so I was happy when I figured that one out. You can't really ask many questions when you have the only F.I. blast and people have no clue what you're talking about.

Loose do u have ne pics of ur Fuely set up on ur blast or can tell how you fabbed it?? i've always thought the blast engine would make a cool engine in a quad and fuel injection would make it truely bad ass. Ill prolly never do it but this like the stuff u've done are always neat to learn more about.

I used xb9 lightning harness, ecm, throttle body, and x1/s3T fuel pump in a sub fuel tank. Basically it thinks it's a xb9 in a blast body. The blast motor is very similar to a xb9; just with out the rear cylinder. So I shut everything off that evolved the rear cylinder, and mapped it. It went a lot better than I was planning for. Everyone that has rode it comes back with a smile. Erik B. wanted to ride it really bad home coming 2010 but couldn't find the time.

New muffler - probably Drummer SS
HID Lights
auxiliary lighting (depending on the HID outcome)
comfort kit

Okay so... Got an HID setup on its way, Hawk muffler waiting to be put on, some gaskets to change out, an oil pressure gauge (still can't find a voltmeter I'm happy with), some fresh oil, and a ceramic coating waiting until i take the pipe off.

Basically I have all the parts now... just need to do the work!

Well got my header back from ceramic coating. After must study and actually seeing the material I went with a "titanium" coat for he coating and is it sharp.

After some reading and discussions with the local constabulary, I decided not to replace my muffler instead having is ceramic coated as well.

Will post more picture after these are back on my bike.

Just ordered the comfort kit. Still looking to get some HID lighting.

I spent the last 2 winters going way overbord..now theres nothing left to do but change the fluids,slap a new belt on it and just fix the anoying rear brake squeal.
I was going to custom paint my extra plastics with a airbrushed flame job..but I rather leave it blacked out anyway
for now its in my living room on stands waxed up and waiting.

Hey I have a lever question: Does anyone have an aftermarket lever set they love? I'm wondering if its worth it or if its mostly a cosmetic change. I don't have any complaints I'm just wondering what the opinions are out there.
