Winter Storage Time...

I'm tempted to clear some stuff out of my bedroom and just bring it inside with me so I can work on it a bit, I tend to spend my free time on the bike or with a girl so I don't know if it'll get done lol

dont forget the most important thing to do is to make sure that you go and visit your Buell on a regular basis,(once or twice a week or at least twice a month ) I know my Buell "Ole' Blue" gets very lonely out in the garage, so do I.(the 70 mach1 doesnt talk much to Ole' Blue, I think it's a damn jealousy thing and impatient for it's restoration, so i visit them both) It's good for the soul, mine and my Buell's soul.

and if you live where you get a nice day for riding take it out for a ride (even a short ride is better than none at all) and show it some love, now thats really great for the soul, not to mention cabin fever for the both of you. (just becarefull of the salt n sand on the roads)

yea, I'm not takin mine out with how much salt they throw down around here, I managed to take out two deer last year that were grazing on the salt that littered the roads, hiding around blind corners. I believe I'll be driving my car til it finally craps out.

Kinda hopeing for the lake to freeze up with a little crusty snow on it. Poeple kinda look at you weird when you come across the lake on your bike to go ice fishing. In the mean time waiting on buell #2 to keep eachother company in the garage. Have a good winter everyone!

Heh, i so would store my bike inside if i could. I would not think that would be awkward at all. As far as winter riding... bad idea... Snow, ice, salt, sand... no thank you. I'll use my snowmobile instead. ;)

I bought my bike in February and it went directly to the living room

ATIR... if you are married consider to be my hero on this forum. Everytime I tried to get the bike a nice place during wintertime I was kicked out (incl the bike). So my final solution to this problem was simple to move to Thailand were all year long perfect conditions appear to ride... BTW I like the clean black SX...

Hydrocarbons from blow-by and water from condensation will form acids in your oil if left to sit.

Yeah I have decided to change the oil and the primary oil as well because i do have quite a few miles on it since its last change. I'm just waiting on the filter kits i ordered from buellsterparts to arrive.

A little off topic but i can hijack my own thread... anyone ever use Castrol Power V-Twin oil before? I got a few friends of mine that swear by it so thats what i'm changing to.

Flat spots are bad.... so are drugs... Drugs are bad. Drugs make you feel good, and feeling good is bad.

I think the board was meant to be under the pipe so that some of the weight is off of the tires

Daves video on winterizing your bike was very informative , except for one thing . HE LIED !!!!!! He was pouring GASOLINE in the tank NOT stabilizer . DAMN ACTORS ! :D

lol didn't bother me dave....it was still an informative video....you may have gotten banned if you told people to pour water in there but not stabil...lol

(the 70 mach1 doesnt talk much to Ole' Blue
