Found an 03 xb9s. 17k miles, factory race pipe, k@n filter, new tires, new battery, clean, seems like a mature owner. Asking 3500 firm. If anything, gonna be picking it up on the 29th hopefully (once I get off these damn islands)

Any thoughts?

I think a little high for $1000.00 more you can jump up to a 06 07 model with alot fewer miles.Good luck!

I've ben looking .. but this one is right where I'm moving. And last thing I wanna do is deal with shipping.

I might spend a few hundered dollars more and get a xb12 instead....but I'm fat so I need all the cc I can get.

IF I can find one .. but I'm sure I'll be content with a 9. I had an 06 sv650 that had enough power for my liking. And the 04 gsxr600 was too much.
As for the fat part :D I weight about 175ish

Just FYI there's not much power difference between the 9 and 12, I think it's less than 10hp. I wouldn't hesitate on a 9.

I bought my 2005 for $2,500 with new tires and battery, and a nice helmet. Bike was not perfect but probably 90-95%.

The k&n is ~$50 new, the battery is ~$100 new (from what went on mine). I agree it's a bit steep for and 03 with the mileage. Mine had 6,900 miles when I bought.

lol. If you're fat then I should be on one of those tv shows about obesity in america....

I'm 220-230 lb and my 9 moves me just fine :)

I've been trying the diet mod weight reduction for about a year and I only managed to add 5 lbs haha

Oh and isn't the pipe worth like 800 900 bucks?

Brand new in a box maybe. But 500-600 is what they have been bringing right now.

They are really worth whatever someone is willing to pay. If you think its a good deal jump on it and ride the hell out of it and dont look back.[up]

nuage, if only it was closer to Misery. ERR I mean Missouri!

Snursnak .. wasn't implying I'm fat lol

I'm gonna keep searching .. if anyone knows anyone around mo that is selling their Buell for like 4k or less, let me know. I can't go over that cuz' I, unfortunately, have to buy a pickup for practical reasons.

Yeah I was going to sell my 06 XB12RS for 5k with 8k on the odo!!! And lets not talk fat I believe I am the largest Buell Rider on the Board!!! 6'6" 357 Pounds!!! HAHAHAHA If your gonna be a bear might as well be a grizzly bear!!!!

i would go for the 12. i have never ridden a 9 that was tunes correctly and running right but after owning a 12 i dont think i would ever get a 9 unless the deal was way to good to pass it up or is i was going to be building a full race bike. the 9 revs a little higher if i remember correctly because of the little smaller pistons and less material moving around. also the XBRR race bike i believe was the 9 as well and for some reason i think i even read some where the the 9 can be built to make more power then the 12 with out doing major custom one off parts. but dont hold me the that one.

9's are fine and fun if the deal is good don't pass it up. That price is not bad and the mileage is low for the age. At 175 lbs the power is good, that's what I weigh and never had an issue with it. The bikes I have now are way more powerful but I would not have a problem buying another 9.

I'm 270 lbs and 6'1 and rode my wifes XB9 ALL THE TIME and it was fine. Had plenty of power even though I could tell the difference from my SS.

Also if you buy a bike from a dealer 9 times out of 10 they will pay for the shipping or it will only run about 250 dollars.

Gonna have to look into that Agate.

Thanx for the info guys [up] I honestly am not all about power. Rode a buddies' zx10r and it had waaay too much power for me. Even the gsxr600 I had was too much cuz I ended up hitting top speed a few times. No good. I'm fine with getting a 9 :)

I would go for the 12, if possible. No offence, but there is no such thing as "too much power"... "the brain bone connected to the wrist bone"...

...that's your power regulator...
