Wow, this thing is crazy!

So I picked up my 04 XB12R Firebolt today and is this thing crazy! Sounds like a Harley, shakes like a Harley, but the seat position is like my R1 used to be (before I converted it to a stretfighter). Also, my R1 is just getting started at 7k and revs to 14k, but I tuned it to be 7-12k. While this has a ton of power right off the line, it feels weird shifting so soon.

Don't get me wrong, it is a blast to ride, but it's a very different animal. It's been raining all day, so I was just taking an easy quick lap after driving for 6 hours.

Im a recent convert myself, my past couple of bikes have been CBR's. I really dig bieng able to cruise at low rpm's and roll it on instead of down-shifting several gears! Its also great to be able to chug it through a corner instead of totally blowing your corner speed.

I re-geared my R1 and the velocity stacks I used made the power much more usable, but this bike is a straight tractor. Looking at the dyno chart, it is WAY different because the torque is damn near a straight line.

The R1 is an even slope with the HP. I can't wait until the pavement dries, I want to run it hard!

breather re-route and open air box kit really get rid of any hick ups and lags. both very easy to do too. welcome to the addiction

I'm not going to bother with mods right now. I'm just going to ride it until winter and then it will be transformed into a wicked street bobber.
