I've been working on a solo tail project using a chopped Lightning sub-frame and a Firebolt seat. The tail was never meant to go on the bike I've been using as a test mule. Instead it's meant to go on my next project, an XB Fighter.

I received the frame tonight. To get ideas flowing I installed my solo tail project and some parts I had laying in the attic. I have an idea where I'm going with this project. But some of both the major and minor decisions aren't completely made yet. I'll be hoping for the forum input along the way. It'll be fun to see how the bike ends up.

I will have junk rails with good mounts next week, (rear pegs back broke off) I hope those rails were messed up before you hacked them off...
Remember you need a rear fender of some kind or shit gets thrown up on you by rear tire.

Rails I get will be off an 09 SCG so they are factory powder black

It looks factory white to me. There's no marks where it's been masked around the stickers. It's from an 02 firebolt 9. I haven't seen many white ones either. I kinda hate to paint it.

wtf ya'll talkin about... as far as I know they never made a white frame xb and the xb's started in 03.

I know they started in 03. The frame says 02 on the side of it. I'll look closer tonight to see if it has been painted.

Never seen one so that's why I was asking...

Edit:

May be to rare to paint brother... I'd ask EBR if they ever did a white frame and how much of a rarity it is. If someone has a white theme it could be a "holy grail" type of piece, you never know...

If that's a white frame then I'm color blind.

It's silver... someone would have heard about a factory white xb sometime in the last 11 years I'm sure...

Its easy enough to remove and replace the stickers after the frame was painted.I have done it before,I dont like to have tape lines if I can help it

03's would have been started with production dates back into 02, so that is entirely possible. My 04 was made November of 03

You're color blind. The subframe spacers are silver. The frame is white. When I get home from work tonight, I'll look for some sign it didn't come from the factory that way. Under the vin sticker maybe?

I guess you are then...:D

Apart from the fact the owner/poster of this frame already stated it was white I'll give you 3 ques that it is in fact white 1.) silver gas cap 2.) silver machining for the head tube pinch bolts 3.) silver machining for the peg mount brackets

Let's let it go... He is going to paint it and we will never have to remember that white "possible" factory frame that once was.:p

EDIT:
Haha looks like SEXT9 beat me to post.

the frame color from the factory is somewhat close to the gas cap, I can see in the picture that they are completely different colors so someone has changed the color

It won't be getting painted until the end of the project. If it is in fact something rare I'll leave it as is. If it's not, I won't feel bad about reprinting something a prior owner did once. That's why I picked this frame. I figured since it was straight and reprinted that it was no worse off with me. Anyone have suggestions where to look?
