Got mine to 120 and felt like wiley coyote trying to hold on to a rocket... if i loosend my grip i had a weird feeling i was going to watch my bike ride off in to the sunset without me

You can get 185... just hold in the turn signal and passing light switches at the same time. I then puts it into "Warp Drive". LOL!
Yeah, call me stupid, but I tried this and it didn't work. [sad] All it did was shift the bike down into reverse. :p

Make sure your using full synthetic blinker fluid if your going to run it that hard.

Like anything that is done right it is in preparation and plaining and execution.
If you are going to do a high speed run you need to check the wonkulator and connuter valve. They must be in proper working order. One more thing...makesure you have enough power steering fluid in your Buell.[smirk] Some thing the guys running Japanese bikes use. SoWeee! sauce Makes their bikes go faster.

Make sure you inspect your muffler bearings before attempting a 185 run. I believe there was a recall on the 07 models.

(my apologies to axman for assisting everyone in bastardize your post. No offense intended, it was an excellent question/discussion.)

Well I would like to but I'm still not sure if I can pedal fast enough to get the backup generator on the bike to work... here's to hoping right?

How about the solar-powered rear quarter panel? Are there any aftermarket replacements for that yet? I just think the one that comes stock might slow the bike down.

I have an 08 XB12Scg Lightning....the seat helps keep my asss where it should be,because of the wind at a higher speed that was,and is my only concern...i have had no other problems at all at high speed...very stable....So with that said...others have had concerns...Tire air pressure? The weight of the rider?...who knows...Again my bike is fantastic at high speeds....Oh yah one other concern is the difference the impact of the bigger bugs make....OUCH

I just had my 05 XB12S at 110 here in LA and no problems at all, even on our crappy broken up concrete freeways with the diamond cuts on them that the tires follow. I've been riding for more than 20 years. In the old (yes I'm old 58yrs) days of spaghetti frames that would wobble at any hint of a bump I noticed that if you had the correct air pressure on the tires you would cure about 90% of all wobbles and if you had one you could control it. with the new bikes it's almost impossible to make one wobble unless your air pressure is WAY off or you have some other wear problems like bearing etc...
I had a GPZ550 Kawasaki that once it started wobbling while I was running it on a race track here in so cal, it did it so hard that it bucked me off the bike like a wild bronco. Another time the same POS bike had me doing tank slappers on a side street because I put on the rear brakes a little hard and then let them go.... LOL... I can still feel the pain. Needless to say I got rid of for a Yamaha Seca 650... Now that was a sweet ride, of course no comparison to my 05.

Do you guys know how your suspensions are set up? I have an 05 xb12scg with 3000mile on it, I am running Michellin Road 2s, the pressures are perfect and i torqued the steering bearings to the new torquebut i am having trouble keeping the handle bars from wobbling at anything ove 160mph.

Any help would be apppreciated

I'm sure tank slap is normal when being pushed by a busa. [up] for having the fastest buell on the planet.

I was gonna say you couldn't have been stock. Maybe a muffler bearing upgrade and synthetic blinker fluid as mentioned?

I have checked the stem bearing, muffler bearings are good just upgraded to greaseless ones haha, tires have about 500 miles on them and no lock ups. Its not really a flat spot kind of problem just really loose feeling on the front end.... i was having the problem at 70 mph and played with the suspension and got it so its really good up to probably 85 mile an hour and a little sketchy up to 100 but there is no way i can go over that
