Hi all, new to forum and new to the world of the Xb (had a M2 for a bit and loved it...). So far really loving the Xb9r (2003) that I got for a song from a nice guy on the BadWeather forum. Needs a little tlc, but then again, so do I so it's all good.

At the risk of persecution here, I ask your advice and experiences on what some would consider sacrilegious to the performance capabilities of this bike. I want to run dual sport tires (I know, get a Uly, but that's not the point here..)

The stock tire is 180 rear, how small could one go? 160? 150? (gasp).

You can get cool tires in 150, a couple in 160, but after that I'm not sure...

This bike is being built as a end of the world, ass kicker, super moto, light trail runner (without heavy modification...).

I need tires first, so this is where I ask for stories and experiences.

Look forward to advice and thanks!!

tom from Madison.

Those are gnarley looking! I know we are making compromises here, but can they corner without fear of lowsiding into the woods? They are perfect for the impending zombie attacks however...

dont think, just do...

Pretty much the most badass tire out there. Ive neer used them, but they have a ton of hype, huge tire size, and the knobbies have big surface area bet they do well all around

You could try looking around on advrider.com, there is a fair number of Uly riders there

See if this picture shows up...

To bring this old thread back up, can anyone help identify these tires? They look like a decent 50/50. Outside of the Conti's, there is not much available bigger than a 150...

Thanks!!!
