Hello
Last week I was driving home from work when suddenly the bike looses power and is not running properly, I can continue the 2-3km ride home and at red lights keeping the revs up a little to keep the bike from stalling out.
I did a TPS reset and there are no error codes present but it still runs like crap.
It starts fine but wont idle properly and runs very rough and then it will die if I don´t pull the throttle.
It´s an -04 with airbox mod and race exhaust.

Can someone please give me an idea on where to start looking?

Logfile schreiben und link posten.

Crack ECM box. move the ECM to different location.
Bei einer Firebolt befindet sich das ECM hinter der Frontmaske.

today I changed the sparkplugs, cleaned the butterfly valve in the throttle body, added some injector cleaner to the fuel. It started right up but ran rough. I rode it a short bit, seems to run better in open loop and really crappy in closed.

@ ich: I think I understand but I don´t know how to write the logfle.

Tested the TPS sensor and it shows 5V feeding current and 1,14V - 4,67V when twisting the throttle, no fluctuation.
So this seems to be fine.

Checked for intake leaks by spraying some ether on the seals, no reaction. Even though this was a bit hard since it won´t stay on idle.

There are no present trouble codes.

Anyone got ideas?

check your temp sensor wire possibly? The wire usually over the rear cylinder? just my opinion, sounds like something I have experienced, because of the temp sensor wire.Make sure conection is tight, and no frays or worn spots.

Hi again, This weekend I tried to work a Little on the bike, temerature was a lot nicer around 20°C so I think this influenced enough so the the bike would idle if I turned the idle skrew all the way. I Went out for a test drive to let the ECM restet the AFV.It´s running a bit rough and it feels like it´s lost a lot of power. I got back ad took these photos of the scree in ECM spy. AFV at 85%...?? I live close to sea level.
Can anyone see anything strange?

I doubt it is cracked ecm, yours is the firebolt, and not under the seat, which seems to be a problem on some other models, but it never hurts to check, dont see any rpms showing up

Just to update here and maybe give someone else some help.
I spoke to the mechanic at the local HD and he was really nice and lent me a new ECM an told me to go home and install it. If it works great come by and pay for it otherwise just return it.

After a few test drives it seem like the ECM was the problem.

What I tried before was: new plugs and leads, new CPS. testing the TPS by backprobing the connector.
Several TPS resets...

It seem I was speaking too soon.....
I took it out for a longer test drive, luckily briging the lap top.
I had to stop and do some roadside computing to be able to get home.
AFV had dropped to 86%, restet it to 100% and drove home CEL turned on again and I checked for codes when I got home.
O2 sensor short to ground, AFV was at 85%.
I´m going to order a new sensor today and see what happens....

It could be your battery. I was having similar issues after replacing the ancient stock HD battery with a Yuasa. Changed it back to OEM about 1K ago and it has been running like a champ.
