Hello all!

I am in the process of swaping in an '09 XB12R motor in my '03 XB9R. To add context, I failed to replace the inadequate oil pump drive gear and at 26k mi she blew while I was on my way up the PCH. Anyway...

I believe I have done my homework but wanted to get others' opinions. I understand that the oil lines will not fit on my swing arm, but do not believe there will be any other fitment issues. Can some one validate my thought? Also, I am going to burn a new map into my ecm and so that I don't have to pick up an '09 12R ecm and then worry about exhaust servo sims. I have picked up the throttle body from the same bike and main wiring harness in case other issues arise.

I would love to hear from some one who has done this so as to get a better idea of possible road blocks. Also, If people have found a solid link to a previous discussion, I would be glad to look it over. Thanks for the help!

Clayton

09 motor will bolt right into your 03.......If Im correct you need to use the oil lines from the 09 and they should screw right into your swingarm (I dont think there was ever a change). Have you upraded to the 04+ wider belt? If not you will need to swap front drive pully's. If you use a header pipe with the single o2 you should be able to get away with your factory harness ( you may need to swap out some sensors due to diff plugs on the older harness.....Im not sure). Im no pro at this and have never done this swap.....all my info is just from reading on this and other sites.

Thanks for the input. I have done the 04+ belt swap and the micron exhaust so i don't think the o2 sensor will be a problem. Thanks for the help.
