Xb9r plastics-Painted or Molded Color?

Hello gang, i looked at an 03 xb9r in red last night, and i noticed the red paint was flaking off the fairing around the turn signal, revealing white plastic below. Am i wrong in thinking these fairings were molded in color, and this is a replacement fairing? Or were they painted, and the factory paint is failing? It does not look like it has been down to me.

The bike mustve been painted red. The factory plastics are the original color all the way through. Clean white 03's are harder to find than the other colors. At least in my experience.

Hmm. I wonder if its been down the and thats a replacement fairing, or if it started life white. Ill probably pass on that one. Thanks guys!

Easiest way to tell, im betting if the paint is peeling then they probably didnt do a very thorough paint job. if youpull off the air box cover and look at the underside you should be able to tell what color it was originally. If it is white too then they either originally white or replaced all the plastics (which I doubt they would do since they repainted it). Telltale signs of being down is new parts. Check for New parts on handlebars, mirrors etc etc
