Now with the XR1200 being sold state side. Will people be drawn to the XR more than XB lines. Harley taking back the air cooled performance bike? Voice your opinion here on this thread.

Personally I think it's kinda ugly. according to BPG it sounds like it has a couple neat features, but I'm definaitely no fan of the exhaust. I would not give up my XB if they gave me an XR.

I believe that their will be some Harley purists that will buy it just for the history of the XR line, the 750 flat trackers, and the XR1000 that followed in the early 80's. But for a bike that is usable on the street, without Chrome parts, just a metaphor, Dragging the road, I Pick the XB every time. I have my eye on a CR, that I think would look great next to the S3, in the Garage.

Has anyone heard about Harley going to the Aprilia motor? I heard a rumor that Harley was in the process of negotiating a buy out with Aprilia. Can anyone confirm or squash this? I'm not sure if it was Buell or Harley that was negotiating this.

I doubt that with Harley buying MV Agusta a few months ago. If anything they would use a MV motor if need be. But that being said Buell is happy with Rotax and things will only evolve from here. Now they are aiming at AMA and then SBK, its just going to take time. as for the XR, its cool, just not for me, I would definitely like to see some custom stuff off that bike.

We got one of the XR1200's at work and the guy who got to ride it before it's owner comes to pick it up said he was rather dissapointed compared to the buells

I know that the Harley is a little on the portly side. I was just wondering what everyone's reaction is to the new Sporty. I know the were trying to stay in line with Ducati 1000GT. Not a true retro or modern bike but like a cross over of sorts. I wish they would have put it on a diet.

In my opinion no. The bike is slower than the Buells and heavier. I like the way it looks but actually feels smaller than the buell. This is an issue for me. I'm 6' 270. I think guys will like it for the retro look or for a harley "in between" sportster alternative.
