Hey guys, I'm thinking about cutting off the heat shield mounts on header for a cleaner look and while I'm in the process of cutting them off I want to clean up the headers. The headers aren't in bad shape, they are just a mat brown color. From the 20mins of research I've been doing it sounds like the cleaning options are WD40 with scotch bright, Stain-magic, Never Dual, Borla exhaust polish, and one guy recommended putting brazing flux on the pipes. What have you guys found that works the best?

Thanks,
JP

I polished my entire 1125 system using wd40 and 1500 wetsand paper then moved to 2000 grit and finally buffed them using blue magic metal cream and paper towels. They were extremely bronzed when I got the bike.

I think the first time took about 3 hours to do that, every so often I re-sand the system with 2k paper which takes about 30 mins or so. This when I originally did it before getting deans pipe. The collector on the stock muffler is stainless too and polishes nicely.
