Hey guys I need some help. Im in the process of putting a firebolt front on my lightning and I ran into a problem. How can I plug in the headlights? The firebolt headlight switch is the same and the one coming from the bike. I need the plug that is on the lightning headlights. I dont want to cut it. Anyone do this conversion that can help??

that white plug is the one I need. Somehow I need to cut the old plug off and put the new one on....

also, while I have this thing taken apart,

The black box in the upper left, what is it? it is screwed to the sides of the lightning front, does it just need to be connected to a ground??

I want to get this conversion done tomorrow morning, so all your help will be great thanks!

Can you point at which box you are speaking of in the last picture?

For the headlights, I gotta be honest your male plug looks the exact same as my male plug on my fire bolt

I dont have any photo editing software.. its the box screwed into the bottom left side screw of the dash.

As for the headlight switches, on the headlights I have (from you Jakestolar I believe) They have the switch that plugs in, but on my bike I also have that same switch. What I need is the switch it plugs into. So im going to have to cut the one off the firebolt headlights and wire the new one on. But im not sure how to do that.

check out this thread im using it as my guide, he mentions it but I dont really understand it.

S to R DIY

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH THAT!!! I am looking up and not at the bottom of the dash! That is the turn signal clicker dealio.
On the bolt it is mounted on the headlight on the top right bolt (if your sitting on the bike) There is one on each side. It is NOT one of the 4 bolts that holds the head light to the fairing mount but instead the threaded brass hole in the top of the headlight assy.

I will read the DIY and see if I can make sense of it

The way I head is DIY is that he tried to remove the prongs inside the male/female connectors and rearrange in order to make it plug and play. But got frustrated and cut off the connectors and just crimped like wires together. If it were me I would pick up some nice male/female crimp plugs from autozone so if you ever need to pull the headlights off you dont have to cut and paste again

So the turn signal box thing doesn't have to be grounded? And I was thinking about buying new connectors but im not to familiar with that field.

Nope does not need to be grounded! it is just a box that has resistance it has 3 wires going into it and can be mounted anywhere you would like.

Post it up on the forum I am sure a lot of guys would be of more help than I with electrical!

Ok so I ran into more problems!! im so confused and I need help!

my speedo is not turning on, only the brights symbol.

and when I rewired my headlights, now only one bulb is on, not both when the brights are on.

plug from R lights

wires from bike with connectors to connect to R lights.

Also I do not know why my speedo is not turning on. ... I need help guys!

I don't see how on the r lights tho. They only have 3 wires.

And why won't my Speedo turn on??

i tried using the lightning harness and the firebolt harness and with both only the brights symbol works.... Im taking it all apart and starting over. This is becoming more challenging then I thought it would.

issues:

1. Cant figure out how to make both lights on when on brights.
2. Cant figure out why my speedo is not working.

im not sure which part your referring to. the switch coming off of the bike? or the lightning lights?
