My tail light went out. Brake light still works so I assume its just a bulb. I have never had to change a bulb on my Bolt yet. Can I do it w/o removing the whole tail section or not?

So i checked the bulb about 2 hours before my trip back to sactown. There is only one bulb under the tail lense. |It comes on when brakes are applied but isnt on when the bike iss running? Im getting ready to head back home on friday, aanyone got any ideas? My firstt guess would be check he fuses, then change the bulb. If that doesnt solve it, anyone got oher bright(mehehehe) ideas?

Bulb size 1157! Take out the 2 screws that hold the lens on. Twist the old bulb out put the new one in.

1157 is the bulb #. you can get them pretty much anywhere, autoparts stores even 7-11 & AM/PM. Take the red lens off, reach your fingers in the tail light housing, grab the bulb push it in a little, twist and it will come out. the bulb is a dual filiment, one is the running light the other is the brake light. your running light filament is burned out.(what oh9bolt said ^^^)

Hahahahaahahahhahaa got it. I was thinking...is he really giving me directions on how to un screw a light bulb? Lololol

Thanks for the good laugh, i seriously laughed myy ass off. It could be the 5 1/2 hours of sleep after 16 hour grave yard shift

well from your posts above it sounded like you never have un-screwed a light bulb.[smirk] sorry if i read them wrong.

I didnt take offence guiz, jeeeesh. No i have never changed my tail light bbulb as this is my first probblem with it. I figured it would have a two pin lock to hold it in place the way our bikes vibrate.
