Hope im doing this right, I am new here. I have a 2003 xb9. Since my battery is being killed so fast I am currently installing a 30 amp toggle switch in the hot wire to battery. Has anybody done this? Any ideas? Last fall I started having the "buell clicks" after it sits more than a day or 2. I put a new starter in and brand new battery. Had motor swung down over winter for new top end gasket kit. Didnt see any shorted wires. So now after all this, I went to go for a ride yesterday and nothing but the clicks. Battery tested at 12.6 with key switch on. Somebody please help before I end up buying something new. Nothing like this bike :)

This might sound dumb but whats the best way for that? Ive heard of guys checking the draw on the battery and then unplugging regulator and checking again?

I figure with the switch I can kill everything when I park it. But ive heard these computers need juice all the time. Any common places for bad wires?

No doesn't need power all the time. The dash will just reset its clock and your tripometer

Who looks at the clock anyway? I dont need to know the time as long as the front wheel is in the air :) thank you though, helps alot. Will keep you posted

Well not sure what or why your bike is draining the battery but I suggest if you are set on the toggle switch idea be sure to put the switch on the NEGATIVE side NOT the Positive.

If you check the owners manual it says upon battery removal to always unhook negative FIRST and on install ALWAYS hook up Negative last.
Just my .02 take it for what its worth. :)

IMO I'd fix the problem with the discharge instead of the switch install.

Good Luck
