I've done this mod on several bikes and they have all worked great. Basically you open up the stock flasher and double check it has a timing chip. Orient yourself with the pic and your flasher, using the notch on the chip as a point of reference. Removing the indicated connection either above or below the circuit board will enable it to function as a LED flasher. Then just seal it back up with a glue or silicone and let dry. DONE.

just bought led blinkers and havent bought the led flasher yet so i really hope this works cuz it will save me some money!

Silly question. But where is my flasher on my xbr? Is it under the left side box? Cause I know the tops are not it. on either side.

This is awesome! This post is worth about $20 - $25 - that's how much people pay for LED flashers with shipping from ASB :D

Loki. Turn your key on andhit you blinker switch. Hear that thing ticking? That's your flasher relay ;)

Cyclic,

Thanks for the mod info. Is the modification shown in the photo the lifted chip leg on pin 7? If someone reverts back to incandescent turn signals, will the modified flasher still work?

Kool, I have the original relay still and my LED relay is going bad so I will deff give this a try!

Yep, still works great with regular bulbs. It changes the timer circuit to purely time based with no reguards to resistance. And yes the mods is the lifted leg on the chip. The factory chip on the Buell should be soldered in, either cut on the top side or carefully cut the trace on the bottom of the circuit to get the same effect.

One note, the fast flashing is to indicate a bad bulb. This will no longer show when you have a bad bulb, it will flash at normal speed no matter what. So make sure if your running turn signals, to check the bulbs ocassionally and make repairs as needed.
