    Ok I figured out why I was stuck in gear and could not shift, one of the little springs on the shifter paw was missing , I knew it was a problem with the shifter paw. And I also cycled thru the gears while I had the primary chain off just to be sure .

    kind of sounds like you either have a fuel leak at the injector , or a bad injector . i would start there , and check the color of your plugs too .

    oh my bad, but the crank sensor could be your problem , ive had issues like that with cars same symptoms , im pretty sure you can use a volt meter to check the crank sensor while your cranking over the motor , to see if it has a pulse. sometimes those wont throw code even if they are bad.

    im pretty sure you can order gaskets from H-D or cometic. as far as removal id recommend putting the motor at tdc. and loosening the rocker box bolts in 1/4 turns increments in a criss cross pattern so you dont warp or crack the boxes from the pressure of your valve springs and pushrods ...
