    how far have you ridden yet? as 3mm is not very much, and i found that as my klms travelled (chain wear) and as my speed increased and the chain slopped and moved, that it touched the tyre.

    Needed scg shock for my xb9s

    mate, jsut realise too that if you just change out the shock the rear will lower about 40mm and you cant drop the front forks through that much, so you will affect the geometry and handling. as well you may emcounter side stand issues all to be considered. i have swapped out two buells for Scg...

    so... are you going to cut into your swing arm for hte belt to fit? or are you going to widen the whole swing arm to accomodate the belt? i have seen the swing arm with a belt groove cut in it. it didnt look very structural. otherwise there isnt room for both a 240 tyre and a belt.

    sorry guys. havent been on too much, but to answer. i used a dremel and then fine file to create notch. didnt need to remove the swingarm. as for the tyre. yes its the HD version from the VRod. sat fine and managed still a great pace and full lean through the twisties.

    i had to notch about 5-7mm from the inside rear of my swing arm to allow the chain and sprocket nuts to clear the swingarm on my conversion...
