Hey guys. I've just bought a 2nd hand firebolt with 17000kms. Don't get to ride it properly until I get full licence at the end of the month. Going over it though, I noticed that it was a bit dirty around the shaft on the belt drive side. I had been for a ride and it didn't look like there was any fresh oil, so should I wait until I'm riding it more often to keep an eye on it or is it an inherent problem with these bikes and I can get a seal or something?

I wouldn't worry about that too much! My '06 was like that...it never dripped anything, just got "damp" and it would collect dust. If it starts dripping, then it will take a seal, but my '06 never got that bad.:D

Yeah...I'm sure you'll be ok on that issue. I,ve seen others that are 'damp' as well, yet they never actually "leak" or drip. :D

Simple starter gasket but u have to pull the left case to get the two bolts so just watch my 05 is like that n I'm only changing it cause I'm already in the case otherwise it was not a bother.

same think on mine... it comes and goes, but never drips. its currently dry and hasnt got moist in the past 5k miles. its got 35k miles now
