1125 gauge cluster on a XB12R??

Yup, you read it right. I want to put a 1125r/cr gauge cluster on my 12r. My question is; does anyone know if the pin out on the bikes are the same i.e. idiot lights, rpm, mph etc.? I have the pin out for my bike's cluster but cannot find one for the 1125 yet.

I should clarify; is the DATA sent from the ECM to the gauge cluster the same coding format on both bikes?

the 1125 has a lot more data that shows up on the guage cluster and I'm pretty sure you can't just swap them.

I'm sure your right and to retrofit would require a lot of work but for the price of the 1125 gauges, it would be a fun project. It's a damn long winter here in Michigan - and I have the time.

Pure and simple, I want digital gauges and this looks to be a good starting point. I do like the analog tach though.

man if you do that can u take LOTS of pics and write up a good how to? i almost bought a ninja instead of my buell because i like the ninja gauge better.

that'd be neat. if you could make it work; you could swap the entire front end. bracketry and all.[up]

seeing as how the 1125 and XB ecm's are different, and that the XB doesn't have all the sensors and software. there are ODO and IC->ECM 'marrying' obstacles to overcome. getting an un-used IC would be the cleanest way to get around all that.

i'm not software enclined enough to say any more.

I've got a lot of homework to do. I'm afraid that the swap would be cost effective enough not to just buy an aftermarket electronic gauge from some of the vendors that cater to the supermoto crowd. I've seen many CRF450's made in to street legal bikes and they use electronic gauges for the conversion. That may be a way to go.
