I currently own a xb12s and love it, she is my 1st bike. The 1125CR looks have really grown on me, should I go buell again or maybe try another bike for the 1st time ever?

Bikes I have ridden in my 25 years-
yamaha 250 - motorcycle training class for 2 days
Buell XB12s - Delivered off the semi 2 weeks later, scared the **** out of me, but ridden for the last 8,000 miles without too many close calls. However, my girlfriend decided to mount it like a horse once... I make her feel bad about it daily.

I am not looking for something that can go 190mph, but would like to still have some crazy acceleration past 120. I hate the idea of Jap bikes, and hate plastic, but what other options do I have?

(Currently talking with a guy for a 1125cr with 3k miles for $5,000)

I like the 1125 line despite Harley dropping Buell. The 1225 or a version of it will continue to live as long as EBR continues to promote these bikes. Most of the replacement parts for the 1125's can be scored through EBR and quite often quicker than through Harley.

I agree, do it! I haven't looked back since I bought mine. You won't find anything else like it for 5 grand that's for sure.

I got a 2008 r in november with 700 miles fmf pipe, k&n filter, ebr ecm and full plastic for 5 grand. Hell of a machine for the cash.

mate i was looking at aprilia rsv4's for a moment, but got the 1125cr and am loving every minute of it. still gotta keep my xb though. i think the only other option i found was the v4 aprilia. i4's dont do it for me at all.

i know honda has its new v4 coming... and i think it is going to be a rippa as well.

if I was liquid I would def like to add a 1125 CR to the stable...
can't see that happening tho (where I live a dual purpose bike would be the logical choice with tons o logging roads and 5.5 million acres to explore)
:)

if you think the Xb12 scared you your really in for a treat.
The 1125's are Strong as hell.
Would buy another in a second if i had extra money laying around

Just becaused you asked, a speed triple would pull you well past 120. Even the street triple would feel pretty fast over 120 compared to an xb. They dont pop up often, and it would probably cost you a few thousand more but an MV Brutale would definitely give ou what you're looking for, although I'll always be a little sad that bike just has an i4 in it. Aprilia Tuono, although those newer front ends are hideous. I'm not sure what the top end is like on a ktm superduke but im sure its comparable to an 1125. There are plenty of options as non japanese manufacturers are the only ones who really seem to understand naked bikes.

how about this if they make it- 200 hp super charged bike

That is the most true statement I have read in a long time. There really is no comparison to anything else for that kind of money. Buying this kind of bike for $5k is kinda like a Hemi Cuda barn find from some widow for next to nothing. I wouldnt trade or sell mine for anything.

However, my girlfriend decided to mount it like a horse once... I make her feel bad about it daily.

If you get a Uly, with all 3 hard bags on it...she won't have a choice but to mount it like a horse! It was interesting trying to figure out the best way at first- now it's simple: I get on, upright the bike, she grabs my shoulders and stands on the left peg, then steps in over the seat. VERY different than when I was riding the Lightning!

At any rate, all of that is solved now that she rides her own bike :)

Get the CR- bad ass bike. But keep the XB, and teach her how to ride.

I think you would really like the cr I have an r and an xb and I like both of them. The 1125r is so much more than the xb, it kicks ass. I'm glad i got it, my friends on jap bikes can't make fun of my slow Buell any more.
