Sorry if this is a repost somewhere, im overseas and dont get much time so my searching was limited to 5min or so!!!! [confused]

I wanted to get an aftermarket ECM for my '08 1125r. I have D&D exhaust already installed and believe its running a bit lean right now. Any suggestions on the easiest and Cheapest route to go to get a smoother running/cooler running bike? Don't need huge power gains, and I don't mind my backfires with that pipe. Just figured y'all would have some good input for me!! When you need answers, go to the best.

Thanks in advance everyone.

I bought the EBR ECM tuned for my Barker exhaust, well worth the money IMO. I did the exhaust, ECM, and denoid all at the same time so I felt the power gain all at once, it was great.

Congrats. Now I looked at the EBR ECM but they dont have one with the combo for D&D exhaust, and i dont wanna spend 750 smackaroos on something im not good at tuning myself. CLosest thing I had was a chip for my pickup. But it was dyno-tuned [smirk] so i didnt know if i needed to do the same for this one or what the best route was.

The resistor plug is so that the CEL wont come after you have performed the denoid. The active intake soleniod "noid" is that nasty thing located under your seat that was installed by Buell to limit noise db's so that it could pass testing. Most people, myself included have removed it due to its manipulation of the throttle bodies under certail speed/rpm conditions.

If you buy the EBR ECM there is no need to denoid ur bike. It is programmed out by EBR. Email EBR and ask Mike what the best combo would be for ur app. He will give u a straight up answer either way.

ok so im a bit dumb in this separtment, i am getting smarter thought, i purchased a d&d i am just waitin to put it on, havent even opened the box yet actually i have just been that busy. But is there anything else that needs to be done... such as the the ecm (which i have no idea what that is used for).

Not much of a buell dr, huh doc? Jk...the ecm is the brains of the bike. And yes, it is recommended that you get an ecm that is tuned for that exhaust. It will run more lean than it already does. Lean is mean, but too lean can be catastrophic.

ahh, i see thanks firebolt,im getting better at being mechanically intelligent. ok so what is reccomended then for my d&d exhaust in terms of getting a new ecm, whats the consequences of not doing anything but installing the exhaust.??

It's a noise reduction device for the EPA, it's fairly dangerous in some situations, it's 3rd gear, about 3500-4000 rpm, WOT and you'll find out exactly why it's a bad thing. It limits the throttle from fully opening by pulling the butterflies closed. You _think_ you're going to get full power and you don't. If you're passing and try that, it can get downright scary if there's oncoming traffic.

Denoiding the bike removes all possibility of that happening.

hey guys, sorry it took so long to get back on here. im overseas and haven't been on a computer in a while :/ But definitely looking to get it tuned, fixed up. My shop in Delaware said they would run the bike on the dyno and flash it for me or try to fix the fuel level for me for cheap. You still ahve that ECM 09CRRED? if not no worries, its my bad being offline so long. trying to pay off the bike so trying to see what i have to actually spend ON it. lol thanks for the help everyone.

cannondale,

what you posted about the D&D exhaust being reccommended to use the Jardine ECM. He means the Jardine Exhaust tuned ECM from EBR correct? for 250.00? just wanting to make sure. I just wanna keep my baby happy is all! haha.

Yes that's what Michael means. Sorry Cannondale ;) Buy the pre programed ECM for the Jardine exhaust if u have a D&D.

I appreciate ya. Beat cannondale to the finish! haha. I am definitely excited to get the ECM for my bike. I wanna have em run it on the dyno for one run, see how it is/power and whatnot.and then put the new ecm on it and see how it all plays out. If power is affected at all. I am sure its not much just putting a D&D on but its loud as all hell. at least people can hear me a mile out. :D

yea i have the ecm still so if you want it its yours and MR Diesel its more than a mile away id say 5 if you got it rapped up

will the 09 CR ecm work on my 08 R? sorry, i got a lot going on here so my mind isnt working to is potential! haha. i like the idea of no surging and not running lean. the one you have is for the jardine/pump gas right? and yeah i guess youre about right with that 5miles, I know pulling on the highway to get to base, if i open her up, everyone at the gate is there and watching before i even get up the offramp. hahaha i love this bike
