On my way to work, got off the highway, turned into the hospital, about to turn left to the drive that goes to the parking garage, and I see a car in the middle of my turn that's coming straight at me from my right side. A few things of note: Said hospital likes "beautification" so there are plants in the large divider in the middle of the road leading up to this particular entrance, making visibility for shit; I was wearing a full face helmet, leather jacket, moto gloves, hospital scrub pants, and high top sneakers. I grab the brakes, mid turn, low side the bike and prevent the accident. My city-x handelbar guards took the brunt of the upper impact along with my frame pucks, but axle sliders look untouched. All in all, bike looks fine, just some scraping on the frame puck. As for myself, scraped my knee and a bit of my arm (through the leather jacket). My thoughts looking back are that I REALLY need leg protection, and I'm very thankful this all happened at low speed. I picked up my bike, popped the end cap back on the handlebar, started her up and looked her over. Rode to the garage, parked, and went to work. Bandaged my knee, and I'm thinking I got off pretty light.

Glad you're ok. Definitely lucked out! Did the driver of that car stop to see if you were ok?

The driver did stop, lots of people out and about near that area also stopped and made sure I was ok. No hard feelings to the driver, just a shitty intersection, really.

Well that's good people stopped. When I got into mine. Nobody stopped. They just went around me. Some guy walking on the side walk ran over and helped.

If you're gonna crash might as well be right in front of a hospital ay? :p

Glad you weren't any worse off! [up]

It happens man. Glad to see you not really injured and the bike in decent shape.

After watching the video of the dude who hit the trailer and his shoes go flying, I'm probably not going to put arround in crappy sneakers ever again.

I am not trying to be sarcastic but you low sided on a parking lot drive? Is there a chance you were going too fast? I've never reached speeds in a parking area that would cause me to low side.

Anyway I am glad you are not hurt. Safe journeys always.

No matter what always have that damn radar,2 secs 4 secs 12 secs...it's cheesy as all hell but if it keeps my bike prettier and Trenton baby dropped! I'll ride like gramps @ age 28...as for them bushes, nothing a lil'grass killer can't fix. Make sure no cams is lookin at ya. Kill em kill em all!!!!

Hey man--sorry to hear about your accident.

I didn't get off so light over Labor Day weekend -- & my bike didn't make it, either.

I'm really glad to hear you're Ok & I hope that knee heals up quick. My second thought was glad to hear the bike is in fair shape as well, though obviously your health is more important.

Hang in there!

PS--2 thumbs UP on the gear shout-out. I lacked only leather pants (heavy denim instead) & boots (wore sneakers that day) & I paid HEAVILY. Never again.
How does that go? AGAT (All Gear All the Time?)?
