Congratulation on getting the bike in the magazine, can I ask how you mounted the highway pegs ?

Thanks. I welded brackets onto the D&D exhaust plate along with triangulated trusses for reinforcement. I welded 1/2 bolts to these which exit out the factory fairing bolt holes and the foldable wing pegs screw right onto the bolts.

You may notice I removed them for the mag photoshoot. I really did enjoy them but ended up dragging them alot around aggressive corners and so decided to remove them for now. If I'm doing a long highway ride, I just screw them back on.

Thanks for that, I noticed they were removed for the photo shoot. I'm running a stock muffler but it wouldn't be a problem to do that.

love the dual front discs. how much did it cost to get them mounted?

Thanks. Don't remember the figure off hand but it was a pretty penny! Had a fab/machine shop draw up a CAD file to CNC rotor bosses to mirror the ones on the right but they also needed to be shorter due to the offset of the wheel spokes. Getting them aligned perfectly and welded on straight was another ordeal as anything less than perfect alignment would result in horrible vibrations from the wheel at speed. I've had her up to 110 w/o any wheel issues.

nice.

hope you don't mind but i posted your magazine links on the Buellxb page :)

i have been following your build from the start and modeled mine round it.

here is mine :) think i need to lower it though as would like less of a gap between the fairing fairing and the wheel.

Cool. I saw your headlight thread awhile back. Bike looks good. I would second the motion to lower the headlight but either way, it's your bike: build it how you want it.

Well I thought I was done with the build...lol

After the time and money that went into the 430rwhp Turbo R1 build, I told myself I'd leave the poor Buell engine alone. But after running across an incredibly experienced engine builder as well as a former Harley Race Team tech who can dial in the tune on any Harley engine, I have had a change of heart.

So here she is: virgin 1203cc 2010 Buell engine with only 4400 miles on the clock. Will be crated in shipped out in the next week.

We're going to build a rather aggressive engine: 1500cc with CNC head porting and big cams. Also carbon clutch with HD spring and a few other go fast goodies. Expected to put down 130rwhp/115ftlbs and run on pump gas. With the tall gearing and 280mm tire, it may suck a few of those ponies away. Only time will tell.

Please keep us up on the details and pictures as you get them. [up]

Cant wait to see the Hp/Tq numbers cause I plan on my building my 240 tire XB12 too.

I'd still recommend the james intake gaskets over the cometic ones, the difference is very noticeable.
