I do believe this will be my next end of tour gift for daddy. I love my buell and don't think it will be leaving the stable but I think I'll be mounting a ninja before the 1190.

It has good looks lol. That is quite possibly one of the sexiest bikes on the planet and I would buy that WAY before the 1190.

1. Its cheaper in price.
2. Kawasaki is way more reliable
3. You know there will be and endless list of aftermarkets and places to service it that know their stuff (not HD)
4. Its faster.

I love my 1125r though and would never part with it.

I saw that the other night. I was so happy that Kawasaki is finally ready to get over awful front end design they've been using for the past 4 years. Looks like an awesome bike, and I'd definitely rather one of these than the S1000RR. Hopefully they update the zx6r next year to match.

i wanna say it's cool. and i'm no leading authority, but when it comes to electronics and reliability i definitely would stick with bmw. being a kawasaki certified tech and a bmw certified tech, i can say the manufacturing, the fitment and tolerances are much better then kawasaki. and saying the zx10 is faster is pure speculation there have been no actual dyno tests from the manufacturor. yeah the price is off and the looks are ugly but IMO, they all look the same with race plastics on.

they said their aim is 200hp. but would settle for no less than anything over the BMW numbers. I think the plastics have the current CBR600RR for the head lights up and the R6 sweep for the lower portion. Sexy as hell regardless.

I'm amused how kawasaki had to tone down their motor on the zx10r because too many people were hurting themselves, and now all of a sudden bikes with 200hp are acceptable.

Why doesn't my xb9 go 115mph in 1st gear??!

Two words:

Ug Lee.

I'm with bttrfngrs. I'd rather have the Beemer.

I LOVE the new ZX-10R I have done quite a bit of reading on it already.

Not sure who said 200hp either. In a mag write up the kawi rep would not disclose numbers or number goals, all he would say was that it would put down more than last years ZX-10
the goal was faster lap times with more usable power in the mid-range and traction control so you could put it down sooner.

what has me the most enticed is the ABS (I'm a rain rider so ABS has always seemed like a good idea to me) and the high and low speed damping settings for both front and rear.
yea the BMW is nice but its ugly as sin and it isn't as easy to get it worked on when on a tour.
I REALY hope honda steps up with the CBR1000RR and gets slipper clutch and traction control on the bike, if they did I would be on that mount before the kawi.

all I know is that I want a 1L+ I4 to park next to the lighting as soon as finances are right to do so
(I would go for a near 1200 twin but they are much more costly if you want close to the same performance as an I4) kuz if you cant beat 'em join 'em

I used to be a rain rider, and one of my favorite things to do was just yank the throttle open when I was leaving redlights and see how far down the road my tire would spin. They're trying to take away all my fun. When we were 16 and would go spin donuts in our parents cars in the Kmart parking lot after huge snow storms my best friend always just had to sit and watch because the traction control on his parents Saturn just wasn't having it, haha. It's like the same story all over again.

Anyway, I'm with you, looking to park an I4 next to mine next fall as well. Probably stick with a 750 though, as I'm only 145lbs and really don't need that much to push me around, not to mention I don't want my xb9 to feel that slow when I get on the throttle.

Maiden, ABS wont impact your throttle at all. Its just for braking. SO you can get your fix of wet burn outs. I love doing that in my buell as well. :p

I actually hope that you can turn all the nannies off when you don't want them like you can on the BMW.

on the BMW those nannies are options, you can buy it without traction control or ABS, just like ABS is an option for the Honda CBRs.
I would expect Kawasaki to follow the BMW setup considering it is the "latest and greatest" (or so the cycle rags seem to preach)

Abs is optional. And the 200hp came from a promo video published by sport rider. My buddy has an 08ZX 10 and let me tell you... Green Means Go! Its fast. Let's see what Mr. Buell brings to the table.
