i remember the first time i drove one of those.a bitch to work on but put a smile on my face after the test drive.

never said that
You've sure implied it though with all of the ridiculous comparisons you've made to other cars that are in COMPLETELY different classes. It seems that you either want the Mustang to be something it never was intended to be (a "true" sports car) or you are simply looking for every conceivable way to make it look bad by putting it up against cars that were designed from the start to be world class sports cars.

that is just plain wrong
Front engine, rwd, medium size (2+2) chassis, affordable price range. I don't see how that's a stretch at all. Like I said, the BMW is a stretch because of it's "upper crust" price range.

what about the subby, mitsu, acura much better for rain and snow but if your worried about groceries, kids, rain and snow they have an suv for that
So you're going to try to compare it to awd cars? See what I mean by the ridiculous comparisons?
Maybe some of us don't want to drive an SUV everywhere?
If you've read some of the recent posts on this board you'll also notice that I suggested the Subaru over a Mustang because of it's all weather useability and all around awesomeness. It's not like I'm biased, I'd LOVE to have an STI myself. I don't, however, consider it to be comparable to a Mustang in any way other than it has 4 wheels though.

Have you ever met any of the people who come up with those stupid sales pitches? I have and they generally know jack about the product they are so desperately trying to talk up.
Also, compared to any other similar vehicle (2+2 seat, front engine, RWD) the Mustang will hold it's own on a road course. Given it's price though, it's in a league all it's own
As far as the strip, The Mustang is probably one of the EASIEST cars to get into the 10's (or quicker). Some minor tweaking and they respond like no other car out there. There is a reason why there are so many Fox bodies being run.

Anyway, like you said before, we can argue this till the cows come home and get nowhere so I'm done here. When you show me a front engine, RWD, 2+2 seat car that sells for a similar MSRP that will dust a Stang we'll pick the conversation back up.

lmao so you want to compare mustang to mustang because there is no other car out there with the same body, weight, and hp numbers lol you are exactly why ford just keeps raising hp numbers and does nothing else.you will have your 650 hp 12 sec car and consider your self lucky.

I'm not sure where this claim of raising HP and doing nothing else is coming from. It is widely regarded by all major car magazines that the current Mustang takes its chassis to a completely different level than anyone thought possible with a live axle.

This would be like claiming Porsche has done nothing with a the 911.

Ya and others say the complete opposite. Guess we'll just have to wait and see the reviews once it comes out. Another beef I have is will it have that same cheap plasticky feel that most modern American cars have? This is all speculation at the moment.

Oh and this is nothing like saying Ford has nuthin' to do with the Mustang. You're speaking gibberish sir.

Can you guys actually use all that power on the road over there? Or you just like running them on the drag strip?

I recommend rereading my sentence - you seem to have interpreted the words in completely the wrong order.

LOL I cross shopped a 2010 evo mr and a 2010 camaro ss. The Camaro was lighter, made more power, got better gas milege and had a better warranty. Oh and it was cheaper. Did I mention it lapped the ring faster too?

Anyone who buys an rx8 is a moron. Its possibly the slowest performance car ever.

Fyi my 2010 Camaro ss automatic with a half tank of gas bone stock weighed 3860 per verified CAT scale. Not anywhere near 4300lbs. The mustangs are typically around 3600. I can tell whos not car guys here. LOL

The gt500 sounds great, lets see how she does on the ring. I have a feeling its not going to be much better or any than the zl1 camaro...which hit 174mph on the straights.

They won't set any acceleration records but are sublime handlers and drive fantastically. Some people don't really care for 4,5 or 600 horse power they just want a great overall package and the RX8 provides it. A Porsche Cayman S is no 1/4 mile hero but is one of the best overall cars on the planet and falls into the same category. Sports cars are about balance and handling not necessarily about being the fastest. Supercars and Muscle cars fill that niche.

i like black you might like red, all the above cars are sweet if i had the money i would buy one of every car.... but i dont haha everyone will think their car is better then yours so lets all agree to disagree
