You've sure implied it though with all of the ridiculous comparisons you've made to other cars that are in COMPLETELY different classes. It seems that you either want the Mustang to be something it never was intended to be (a "true" sports car) or you are simply looking for every conceivable way to make it look bad by putting it up against cars that were designed from the start to be world class sports cars.
Front engine, rwd, medium size (2+2) chassis, affordable price range. I don't see how that's a stretch at all. Like I said, the BMW is a stretch because of it's "upper crust" price range.
what about the subby, mitsu, acura much better for rain and snow but if your worried about groceries, kids, rain and snow they have an suv for that
So you're going to try to compare it to awd cars? See what I mean by the ridiculous comparisons?
Maybe some of us don't want to drive an SUV everywhere?
If you've read some of the recent posts on this board you'll also notice that I suggested the Subaru over a Mustang because of it's all weather useability and all around awesomeness. It's not like I'm biased, I'd LOVE to have an STI myself. I don't, however, consider it to be comparable to a Mustang in any way other than it has 4 wheels though.

Race-worthy and ready for the track, the 2012 Shelby GT500™ with the Shelby GT500™ Performance Package pays homage to its legendary lineage.
Have you ever met any of the people who come up with those stupid sales pitches? I have and they generally know jack about the product they are so desperately trying to talk up.
Also, compared to any other similar vehicle (2+2 seat, front engine, RWD) the Mustang will hold it's own on a road course. Given it's price though, it's in a league all it's own
As far as the strip, The Mustang is probably one of the EASIEST cars to get into the 10's (or quicker). Some minor tweaking and they respond like no other car out there. There is a reason why there are so many Fox bodies being run.
Anyway, like you said before, we can argue this till the cows come home and get nowhere so I'm done here. When you show me a front engine, RWD, 2+2 seat car that sells for a similar MSRP that will dust a Stang we'll pick the conversation back up.
