Extra coating traps heat if I am not wrong.I went for better gauge low voltage wire on rewind(no coating)has held up for 10,000km.

UPDATE

Damn its been 14 days tomorrow. Thank you to EBR! Specifically Danny and Kim. Prompt service and loads of help with the order process. Please continue to support EBR, they are really striving to meet our needs. Next update will be side by side of the burnt stator...undecided what I should do with it. Rewind it for later use or dump it...

I haven't looked into it closely, it comes with the side case, gaskets and everything else you need from the looks of it? That's about as plug and play turn key as you can get.

Yep everything is there in the box. Also included gasket and a new nut.

Well today I got to ride. Its been about 16 days or so and it was such a great feeling running her up again. I burned down a whole tank of gas and got 175 miles out of her. Kept her running over 5K as much as possible with a few lights here and there. Voltage is 14.1-14,4 consistently and did drop to 13.9 at a rather long light when the second fan kicked on. Even added in a new battery. Ambient temps were 50-55F or so. Coolant temps were from 166F-178F or thereabouts. Damn it felt great riding again, I never clicked up to 6th and ran her up to 9.5k at least a few times. She needed her legs to be stretched and I needed to approach the speed of light. Again and again and again. Of course there were plenty of twisties to be had, keeping her in 3rd-4th gear.

I did not get a real chance for comparative pictures so here is a quick one of the old. Nothing that we have not seen here or on Badweb. I'll have some more pics this weekend...otherwise I'll be riding. [up]

Can you see any reason why they include a new cover in the kit? Is the stator that different? A different bolt hole pattern perhaps?

Thanks for the good photo of the dead stator.

One more question, did you use/need a crankshaft locking tool?

I just ordered a kit for myself.

I do believe you need the crankshaft locking tool in order to loosen the rotor nut and to torque it to the 300ft lb torque spec, otherwise you'll just be rotating your motor.

I think I read somewhere that people have been able to put the bike in gear to stop the crank from rotating. Maybe roll the bike against a chock or something...

EBR is out of stock on that tool, is why I ask.

Is there an install guide anywhere online for these? I only have 2,000 miles on my bike but I'm going to go ahead and put one of these in very soon.

UPDATE

Sorry fellas been busy since last Friday (looking at buying a house) when I picked her up from HD. Yes, you read that right, I paid them for the install. It seems like a pretty simple straightforward process looking through the Service Manual, but I decided to let them have at it. Labor charge was $400. Oh well. I'll get it done myself next time I suppose. The Tech was like "You want me to Torque this little nut to 300lbs? Wow, is that what EBR said?" I kindly handed him their direct Technical number in Troy.

Anyway, bike is running fine as usual no problems to note at this time. Voltage is still above 14.1-14.4 so no change there. Put about 300 miles in the 3 days running it everywhere I could.

@Rogue4 There is about 3 pages worth of info in this Thread for install. I read over there that someone put the bike in 6th gear I think and that help lock the engine/tranny. He claims that it worked fine. Take it for what its worth,

A bunch of pics of the old. For you eagle eyes out there you will notice there is no oil jet located in the inner portion of the rotor housing. The EBR stator does have this. There are quite a few assumptions and facts running around about this addition. Its purported to be a 2010 Stator/Rotor assembly that EBR modifies for the 1190RS. Its highly likely that they are buying 1125 motors from ROTAX and modifying the stator/rotors for the 1190RS.Hence the direction from EBR to use 2010 1125R/CR Service Manual

At any rate on to the pics...
