3 locked threads

for an american forum devoted to american made bikes.
free speech is awful low on the list.

One of those threads was locked because it had served its purpose. If the OP were to message me, since I locked it, and explain why he feels the thread should not be locked, in a manner based on logic and sound reasoning skills, then I would unlock it.

Another of those threads was unlocked, even though it went against my better judgement. I couldn't disallow the individuals from wanting to contribute to that thread the opportunity to do so.

Keep in mind that I WILL PERSONALLY LOCK ANY THREAD I ENCOUNTER THAT HAS DEVOLVED INTO A FLAME WAR.

This is not badweb, contribute to a positive atmosphere or don't. Just refrain from creating a hostile one. Respect one another, it's not that hard.

It started with jetlee and ezblast on the firebolt blast thread. jetlee locked the thread when ez was called out on on his experience level.

We're not the US government. We're a private forum that expects a certain code of conduct from its members. If you (or anyone else, for that matter) don't want to adhere to that code of conduct, then I'll be happy to discuss it with you via PM, but this thread seems a little silly to me. You have to understand that we let a lot slide. From time to time, there wil be instances in which we decide to put a lock on things in order to keep them from spiraling out of control.

I'm not looking to step on anyone's toes, or to tell them that they were right or wrong, just to keep things civil. I didn't lock those threads, but I would have probably done it if I had been keeping an eye on the conversation.

I was going to lock it last night after the bickering had died, but figured I'd give it a chance today to get back on track. You persisted today, so I locked it.

Oh boohoo, I locked a thread to prevent people from insulting each other.

We were all fine till these blast douchers showed up. Buying buellforums was the worst mistake buellxb ever made. I got in an Internet fight in the blast forum for telling someone that asked if a blast was a good bike to buy for 2k that he should get an xb for 3.5k instead. I finally stopped responding bec it got dumb. The only opinion they respect are ones that think blasts are godly.

It's going to be hard to justify to buellxb changing jetlee's mod position given that this forum has done nothing but be aggressive toward the Blast riders. I'm not sure I get why you guys have done that. You all claim to be a part of this super exclusive "nobody understands us" Buell brotherhood, and complain about being ragged on by Harley riders all the time. And yet, you guys turn around and do the same thing to other Buell riders in your ranks. That's pretty silly, if you ask me.

this is just a thread on looking for info on why 3 threads have been locked in a month nothing more.

if there is a new order to how the forum is going to be ran cool.

maybe post any new regulations.

If nothing else it comes down to this.

Do not do unto others, what you would not have them do unto you.

Because there is a loophole in the 'do unto others as you would have them do unto you'. If you're a bad person and enjoy pain, you will hurt people that don't. Inherent flaw in logic.

No doubt some of us have been in some threads that stirred up some trouble. But I don't think, aside from some rare instances where people got heated, that you'll ever find a mod being very aggressive. I can't speak for the others, but I try to hold myself to a high moral standard when it comes to interacting with other members, even if I don't completely agree with what they're saying.

You've posted these threads before. You obviously feel very strongly about free speech (and the dissolution of the government, as I would guess from your forum name). Why don't you take that energy and use it to create change in an environment that is far more important than some Buell forum on the internet? You seem to be intelligent, persuasive, and thoughtful. It just seems like a waste of your mental faculties to be doing this. That's all.

I wouldn't be so sure. There is an inordinate amount of disdain and contempt for the blast guys. I don't like it, but I'm not going to make everyone hold hands until they're friends either. If I see a thread where people got off topic, stay off topic, and can't act civil, the thread gets locked. I've often been accused of being too cold, analytical, and logical. Keep that in mind if you ever need to approach me for anything, threads, advice, or anything else. I won't sugar coat anything, and I won't purposefully hurt anyone's feelings. It's just that this nonsense is ruffling a lot of feathers, which is bad for the entire forum, not just the parties involved.

I cant post pics of a persons tires with out getting a thread locked, while the mod that locked it posted pics of my brain tumor scar implying that I am a squid and I had been down and the scar was one of my injuries. That guy is a pos.
