so i finally done the airbox delete and loaded a race map onto my bike. Runs better but there is a loud almost knocking noise coming from my intake. are these sounds normal whenever you open your airbox up? it seems to be only at lower rpm's. i know you will get more of a sucking noise which I hear, but the knocking noise, not sure of. thanks to whoever has any info.

Yup, noise is normal. And it will drive you crazy. Also if youre high, youll focus in on it and loose your shit... Just saying.

Thanks guys, i was expecting some noise but not like that, lol. She does have more power though.

I made a thread a while back with some attempts at quieting that noise.

It helped a little but, I eventually threw the stock box back on. I dont like anything competing with the glorious sound of my race pipe :)

I am sorta getting use to it. I do like the power and the little whine or whistle when I give it throttle. See how long I can take before i get use to it or change back.

I did mine too and ya the fucker thumps loudly! I wear earplugs for wind noise reduction, but it doesn't help. Don't the newer Buells have a factory box with open slits in it? So maybe they sound like this stock?

I don't like it. I will be buying a new inner air box cover. It's hard sayin if it benefited. I have a race ecm burned on my 9 I hope it's good for now.

I actually cut slots in each side of the inner airbox and up front were the gas cap vent is and I here the thumping pretty good.
