By the way, my wife and I are coming down your way to NC. sometime around the 17th, we'll be headed to the mountain area looking around for a place to retire to, unfortunately I will not have a bike with me.
Awesome! What area are you going to check out? I live just to the north of Winston Salem in Stokes County near Pilot Mtn, or Mount Pilot as it was called on the Andy Griffith Show. The Blue Ridge Parkway is about 45 minutes from me also. Lots of good riding around here. There is a small mountain range here called the Sauratown Mountains, named after the Saura Indian tribe. Hanging Rock State park, one of the most popular parks in the state, is a part of these mountains. Elevation is only about 2500'. Real estate pricing here is reasonable. The farther west you go in the state the higher the price goes. Asheville is mega popular right now. I hear people refer to it as "Tahoe east" Lot's of celebs with houses around Asheville. Here's a pic down the Sauratown range and a pic of my FJ40 from January. The 40 pic is from my daughter's place at the base of Sauratown Mtn.
