Hey guys!
Finally have my 2003 XB9R back together, and I cant get it to start.
It did the other day after some coaxing, and then yesterday it fired right up.
However today, it doesnt seem to feel like it lol.
Its turning over. It has spark, at least it did (because it was running), it has gas.
I checked the relays for the start, ignition and key switch, and they are good.

What do I do?
I am slightly retarded with this kind of stuff, so i need a direction to go.

I appreciate it!

More explanation would probably be good lol.

It was just started for a few, not ridden.

I pulled nothing mechanical off, except the primary cover to replace it and the brake pads to change it.

The previous owner sucked at life and took really poor care, so I pulled all cosmetic things off....
Fairings , wheels etc.

Hmm...bad/old gas and/or fouled plugs as Neil said would be number one on my list. The best things to check first are the cheapest, ie it costs nothing to pull the plugs. Report back

Sorry for the delay!!
Left out if town and have been busy since:(

Okay.
Changed plugs (figured it needed it anyway), and it still wouldn't start.
Pulled the plugs back out and they (at least the front) isn't firing.

It just started fine a week ago!

What the heck is going on?!

I need the bike for a trip Friday too lol

find a hill, put it in 3rd pull the clutch and let it out. see if it starts that way.

Definitely check every fuse first

@wolfo68
Hills? I'm in Florida lol.
Not to mention how would I get it back up the hill if it didnt start?
Lol :)

I have checked relays.
They all seem to be good

It's worth a shot. Maybe yours is going out intermittently. I have an extra one if you want to give a shot.

Also check cam position sensor. When I had intermittent spark problems that was the issue.

@xb12rs
I would like to at least give it a shot!
It's just sitting in my living room right now!
(Stained concrete floors lol).

Where is this cam position sensor?

Right side of bike under the cover held on with rivets. When mine went you could tap on the sensor itself and the bikes idle would go crazy or just die.
