Im currently ride a 12r and Im planning on switching to an 1125r next month. Is the jump worth it? Do you have any regrets in switching? Is there a noticable power difference? I love the way my 12r handles, but I feel it lacks coming out of corners and obviously on straights.

No regrets here! The power difference is amazing, it takes some getting used to. I found myself coming into the corners a little hot and the exits the front wheel is very light. But all and all a ton of fun!

On a side note, the only down side is the stator problem. But at least their is a fix for the 09-10 years. If you buy a 08 ur good. my 2 pennies

/\ what Red said. I am glad I made the switch, will end up getting another XB down the road though so I can have the best of both worlds.

I was planning on getting an 08 just to avoid the stator headache, but if I find a deal on an 09 then so be it. So do they handle pretty similar to the bolts?

About the same, my issue was coming into the corners, the dont turn in like the xb does but I think its because I was coming in a little hot. It was a little bit of a learning curve.

I went from an 06 SV650S to my 1125R, and I love it. My dream bike is still an XB12S, and I will own one some day. However, the 1125 is awesome. You will definitely notice the power gains, and a nice addition of a 6th gear. Now to mention power wheelies galore. As for the sound, it is amazing. Sounds like you are on an american super bike! Wait-- you will be if you have an 1125! Just go out and ride it, see if you like it. Even though I am partial to the XB series, I love my 1125.

none here, went from an XB9R to an 1125R. Had them both for a while, but sold the 9R because I was neglecting it in the corner of my garage. Pretty noticable power differece...I have an '08, so I only had to deal with the clutch weep though... 25K miles strong!

I want an 08 to go along with my 03 XB9R. Then I want an XB12S. Then I want the EBR Race bike. Then I want to race pro.....[cool] Yeah Im dreaming, but I do want a 1125:D

yep. i went from a 12r to adding a cr. nice bike, but not the fun the 12r has. and as i had two side by side i was able to ride one one day and the other the next and directly compare my grin factor.

the cr didnt have the rumble nor the feeling. it had the power but i felt like i was almost getting back to smooth japanese function except i couldnt trust my bike to get me home.

if you like the speed and happy to sort those couple of issues, then maybe, but i decided to go back to the firebolts. both a custom version and standard.
on the straight stuff i dont care. speeding over hte limit is fun no matter what it is, and really the cr was only 40klmh faster ( and a ducati is 50klmh faster again, and some litre jap bikes faster still), but the bolt can be jsut as much fun or more everywhere else. twisties, cruising, or coffee runs.

Yes. There's quite a few:

People will ask you why the engine is smaller but faster than the xb.

People will ask you what those big goofy fuckin scoops on the side are for?

You'll be in triage on a regular basis for burns on the inner leg if you ride in super hot weather

Valve adjustment recommended at 10,000 miles.

I guess that's all I could think of

A lot more parts through ebr though

My only initial regret was i severely missed the raw sound of my xb. Got a pipe and solved that problem!

Power increase is absolutely phenomenal in my opinion.
Handling feels a lot the same, but like said above, the front can get pretty light in 2nd or third gear ;)

Try to find a clean 08 and avoid the headache.

i thought it was 12000? i gotta find out!

I went from a TL to a R. I love it. The response of the bike is like its a part of me. Sure the TL was beasty, but everyone thought it was a GSXR anyway. The right person looks for a Buell, those who dont know feel sorry bout the brand.

Those questions fuel me, I get em everyday.

Its a liquid cooled Harley! My fav!

Its a snowmobile engine or ski-doo, they'll nod (maybe look at u crazy), then say like the ones in the power boats!

The scoops? Put your hand in there, they're turbines, cut your f'n fingers off, dont touch my bike.

HD boys dont wave to me but everyone else does. When the HD pulls up to you at the next stop and looks surprised that, for one its a Buell, and for 2, you just pulled a wheelie in 1st 2nd 3rd and then did a stoppie or as some call it a endo. Smile and give him the fist pump and tell him "ride on brother"!

For the weep issue, go on EBR.com and buy the $99 part, yes, do this even before you bring it home or "own" it. Its ok, its not a waste of money, you'll need it at some point.

Heat probs from header? Go get some heat wrap, get black. like $30 a roll from the local speed shop, it helps, as well as shuts up the f'rs who say whoo your headers purple!?!

Woops, you bought an '09. No prob, go on ebay and buy an '08 stator or get yours rewound.....or if you have big money go get the one on EBR.com

Dude, go get one you wont be sorry! Now you know bout all the bs!

Its like that hot chick you date...she's really f'n hot, but she farts alot and burps, laughs like a horse, has hammer thumbs, but she's f'n hot...You'll get passed the probs and love hittin it whenever you can!:)

hammer thumbs hahahaha [up]

Hmmm didn't know that? Dunno how much it is on the 1125, but on my old ducati it was $950 to do the valves and they change the belts at the same time!! Frikin nuts
