So i just bought a set of excel wheels with dunlop slicks on them. How long do you think that I will get out of them on the street? They were on a track bike and look fairly new. Maybe 1 or 2 track days. Will they ride ok? Any ideas?

the super-tard's look very fun. i know there is no such thing as too-much fun, but i'm gonna hafta give it a try.

Should be fine for a couple thousand miles. They will be very, very soft and lose heat pretty quickly and take a while to build up the heat. Just be careful, especially if wet.

Anybody try the new conti attack supermoto tire? Thinking about trying one of those next. Running a pilot power now. Have about 2200 miles on it so far and is just starting to square off. Doing my first track day at a kart track in a week so it will probley be shot after that

I've been thinking about those as well since the Avon's on here now are almost smocked. I'd like to keep some dirt riding ability though. I've got conti road attack 2 on my XB12 and absolutely love them.

There's a cart track here near Indianapolis that does supermoto racing on Tuesday. I'm pumped.

Yea me too. I just found a track and its just over an hour from me. Never even heard of it before. They even got a small dirt section in it. It will be my first track day on anything

KTM 990 SMR

Yeah, its bad ass, but I think once you start getting into the twins, you really take away something from the high strung thumpers. You add lots more weight, sure you get more power, but one of the best things about the supermotos is their extremely low weight and flickability. That KTM weighs more than an XB. They hypermotard weighs in right about the same as an XB.

It is the weight that makes these bikes awesome. Flickability is a word that cant be described. Its one of those things you just feel when you hit your first quick s bend or two.
