Well, this is sure a zombie thread, but maybe it's also a good time to point out that in the past several years since the first post, board technology has improved massively, & prices have come down a lot.
Intricate profiles, serrated edges, & composite cores used to cost over $1000 when introduced several seasons ago but now can be found in boards costing less than $500.

Gnu, for example, is offering some pretty trick features in its 2015 boards at lower prices less 2014.

If you're still riding around on that old Burton Custom, now's a good time to upgrade.
