Code 21, bad actuator. I removed the actuator, riveted closed. Popped rivets and found the chip on the circuit board in there was damaged! So here's my quandry:

1: Buy new (or used) actuator, install.
2: Leave it broken, get Dummer SS (which is in the 1 year plan). If I do this, I'll still get the Code 21?
3: Buy new (or used) actuator, install, ride for a while, buy Drummer, install, remove cable, allow actuator to pretend to work, no code.

Do you have one you want to sell me? Any other advise is welcome.

follow jason's excellent post on the link....can assure you the actuator works beautifully as i just did one....install....clear #21 fault code....ride. used actuators typically have problems. the FoMoCo conversion works beautifully.

This is a picture of the circuit board inside my actuator. Notice the 3 holes in the chip?

Update for anyone who cares:
I bought a used one (a newer version, riveted) for $20, threw it in, and it works! I'll run this for a little while, then I'll buy my Drummer SS and remove the cable at that time. Runs like a dream, and no more error codes!
Guy I bought it from also sent in a 2nd unit as a backup. What a nice guy :)
