Hey guys, I just wanted to take the time to warn everyone out there. The weather is starting to warm up, and people are getting on their bikes again (I myself never got off) and the temptation to do stupid **** is running rampid. There have been 3 motorcycle fatalities in the last 3 days in my town... Just keep safe out there. I would really like it for all of you to be around for at least one more season!

take some time re familiarize yourself with your machine. Get all that feel back before you start carving the asphalt and romancing the roads.

I myself never got off either, and +1 for watching for CAGERS! I got t-boned by one saturday, I was rushed to the ER where 2 other guys had been med-vac to the ER from motorcycle wrecks. I think once people get to a certain age, they need to take the Drivers test every year.

Yes, I hate the fact that to get a motorcycles liscense, we have to know what lane to be in, where in the lane, how to corner, how to stop, and 1,000s of other things from cars to trucks to semis and when you take you driver liscense there is not one damn thing in there about how not to ride on the ass of a motorcycle, among many other things. It's a bunch of BS!

i think riding has made me a better cager when i'm not on my buell. you have to be on your "A" game every second you're out riding. between people eating, texting, talking on the phone, yelling at the crumb crunchers in the back seat, etc (sometimes all at once) while they're driving it's terrifying to see what some people do behind the wheel of a car.

I live in a small country town where we still have old folks who think that the only people on the road drive cars so they do not watch for anything on two wheels, so those of us on buells and any other two wheels have to extra careful year round.

But for real, keep your heads on a swivel out there! Lots of gravel in those corners still, and LEO's will always be looking for us.

yeah, as long as you wear your helmet... if you are ok with road rash, that is up to you, but dont kill yourself. (yes, I realize that not wearing everything raises the chances of you dying, but boots and jackets and gloves are mainly there to prevent skin removal... helmets protect the thing that most often kills riders, their nugget)

Always wear your gear guys regardless of how hot, cold, wet or dry! Always be on the offensive and remember look ahead 4, 8 and 12 seconds. Last but not least, keep it on two wheels! Good thread guys!
