I started tearing her down, and got all the plastic basically sanded and the small holes welded/filled, and then hit a motivation bump that took 13" of snow to get over it.

Next was the tank design (i know tank is air box).
My idea was some pegasus wings in smoked out gold that had the emblem in stark gold on top. First was to make the wings. I thought up an idea and sketeched it out on news print that I prefit to the tank contour. Then was to cut them out just like a stencil and spay on top. I first primed the newsprint with hair spray to prevent bleeding through. Then tape off the tank and spray away!

Next was the smoking, I really just dusted the wings with my black paint.
Then I layed the old Buell emblem on the tank and traced out with a pencil and taped it off with painters tape-this took forever!!! Then I sprayed heavy with my gold and blamy!!! After this I followed the wings leaving a 1/4" space with painters tape. Taped off the rest of the tank to show some gloss and flat contrast and clear coated the $hitt out of it-8 coats. After dried I put the bike all back together, much better than yellow (my opinion) sorry i didnt trade one of u guys for darker but this was done before I was a member.

Looks pro! Gives me the motivation to start mine.
I bought some yellow plastics with just that in mind.
Be nice to change things up a bit from stock
black.
What paint did you use?

Should have cleared the whole thing or went for a satin look. You'll hate the flat after you get it dirty the first time or it gets touched from the oils in your skin/fingers, flat never stays clean and looks like crap quickly!

That looks awesome! Makes me a little motivated to work on mine this winter...almost
