I know this thread is 2 years old but I'm going through the same thing! I have the factory black fairings but would love something "less glossy" haha. Usn2 how did yours turn out?

I've been thinking about doing this with my black plastic too.

I was going to try rubbing them with the white Scotch Brite pads, stupid idea?

The under construction/ rat rod/ yo, its murdered out look has been played out and makes the bike look like a POS imo.

Stellio your bike looks 10000% better the way it is, dont do it.

This is my .02 and has been approved by me, if you dont agree dont listen to me.

My black plastic don't look that good any more after a little spill I had a few months back, there a bit scuffed up hence the reason for the rub back or they will need some paint to make the look pretty again.

I guess if I rub them back and they look **** then I'll just drop them off at the painters [confused]

My plastics were rashed after my accident also. I brought them to a painter and I kinda wish I had done it sooner because they shine like never before. If I had any other color than black I would prob have bought new plastics.

If you like it, awesome it is your bike. If you dont, like you said a simple trip to get painted will cure it.

The NOVUS might work on a few of the scuffs but I don't think it will remove the road rash

I'll have to take them out of the box and I a good look again, after they got damaged I had the ***** and put them away so I didn't have to look at them any more.
