what he said[up]... a wire in the harness that runs below the battery cables, it was almost cut through by the long screw for the battery cable clamp. was on I15 south from Barstow and the bike died as I was passing a semi...can you say pucker factor...anyway, not only did the bike die, a 7 amp fuse blew, but still had power going the instrument cluster. no fuel pump priming or starter engagement, replaced the fuse and she fired right up, got home with no problems 'til the next day it happened again. got home removed what I could and still nothing, took it to local HD dealer and they found it after an 1 1/2 of searching and 150 bucks later for labor. they butt spliced the wire and heat shrunk it and tucked it back into the protective plastic wrap...absolutely no issues afterwards.
