What do you guys use for your stands. I just want to keep the bike upright with the tires on it and out of the way. Are there specific stands for our bikes, or is it universal? I dont need anything over the top, just something simple i can use over the winter, and a few rainy days in the summer.

The easiest way without spending $150 on stands is to use jack stands on the swing arm and a ratchet strap to your rafters on the front end.

If you buy a rear stand just make sure to measure your swingarm first to make sure the stand is wide enough. The Buell swingarms are pretty wide.

I'm really happy with my stands from GPI industries...if you don't want a triple tree lift you can get a front/rear set for $109. They fit the xb swingarm perfectly, you would have to spread the rear a bit for the 1125, according to GPI.

Not sure if the fork lift front work with our bikes though, since the tubes are different lengths...

Bambam is on a large grey milk crate hooked up too a trickle charger for the next 3 or so months....

Had Adele sqeeze the front brake while I lifted his ass end high enough to slide the milk crate under the jacking point of the D&D, strapped him to it just in case he gets jumpy sitting for so long....

I like those GPI stands. did you add sliders, or is it lifted in its stock form? Head adapter or no, or what is the advantage of getting one with a head adapter?

I've heard people say you couldn't use normal front stands because the fork legs were different lengths, but only after I had already used a normal front stand on my bike. [confused]

One side is definitely a little longer, but as long as you already have the rear of the bike up on a sturdy stand I don't see any reasons you can't use a normal front stand. You could also just figure out much shorter the right leg is and stick a thin piece of wood between the bottom of the fork leg and the stand. If you want to get really creative you could cut one down with a little rise in the center to it would be held in place by the hole in the bottom of the fork.

Jammer - I'm lifting it from the swingarm, but it comes with adapters to lift from spools, too. You'll need to lift from the swingarm if you want to take the rear wheel off. The head adapter takes the weight off the forks and gives you access to remove the front wheel.

Here is a thread I started that has pics of my stands.

Upthe - I'm almost positive I've seen pictures of buells lifted by the fork tubes. I wouldn't want to try removing/installing the front wheel like that though...
