Biker Shot by a cop

That's why there's civil law. I'm pretty sure this will end with $$$ changing hands.

100% agreed. I know I have learned from this to just do what the po-po says. regardless of whats "right" and whats "wrong" in my own opinion. A few minutes of humiliation while being questioned is far better than what Mike is now living with. It can all seem clear to us about body position, if he had a gun, 220 degrees, all that, but we have had days to watch and analyze it, not the 3 seconds the cop had.

THREE WHOLE SECONDS! Seems like an eternity in that situation. Slow motion, audio exclusion, tunnel vision. That cop had plenty of time (for premeditated murder) to see there was no threat.

Thomas White BURN IN HELL or assfucked to death in prison, whichever comes first, or both.

I'm really sorry to hear about your friend. There is not much more to say that hasn't already been said. I hope your friend gets some kind emotional relief after all is said and done.

"The state's expert on use of force called the shooting unjustified."

Finally some good news.

"He said he wanted to review it because he was shocked and wanted to make sure what happened actually happened."

I guess White isn't all that in touch with reality?

I think my will to live would just fly out the window if the ability to use my legs was stripped away from me like that. Huge props to Mike for making plans to ride again. I wonder how awkward it would be if he got pulled over by that pig again...

Here is my take. The cop is a part timer. Probably not very experienced. Made the traffic stop got scared cause bikers can be intimidating. 2 bikers, 1 cop. And I know Mike from when he use to live in the town I work in and he is a bigger, broad shoulder, muscular guy. So White is probably a$$ pucker factor times 10, gets out with pistol in hand. He either see's something happen that didn't really happen or accidently squeezed a round off.

Regardless, the shooting is not justified and the defense will do everything to try and make it so. There is no display of weapon, threat of serious physical harm, etc... In the end I hope the jury will see through the bs from the truth and convict as necessary.

Cops are just like everyone else here. Cops are a sample of the population they serve. There are good ones, bad ones, druggies, thieves, etc... You try to weed out the bad ones but they slip through. As far as hiring goes I have a bachelors degree in Criminal Justice and I was an MP in the Marines. My application was 30 pages with every address I ever lived at, every person I dated, my credit, everything was scrutinized.

Its the same as when I was in the Marine Corps. There were good Marines and bad Marines. A cop can be a nice great guy or an absolute a$$.

The biggest thing I tell people is I dont make laws, I enforce them. If you dont like a law do the work to change it. Write the letters, speak to your congressman. There are laws I don't agree with but it is my duty to enforce them.

First of all I hope your friend comes through this all right.Secondly I've been around a long time and have met good cops and bad ones.I looked down the wrong end of a state troopers 12gauge( mistaken identity, but justified at the time)and have others go way out of their way when I was in a bad wreck in the states. Some are friends, and have given good advice when dealing with others who I wanted to punch in the mouth.some I have known some since they were children. One thing I know for sure, the job changes them. You think about it, they deal with assholes a lot of the time, how would you deal with it.there are jerks every where, some might even ride Buells.I hope this policeman gets what he deserves, nothing less, nothing more.rant over Raven

Well we all hope Mike keeps his head up, as I'm sure he's doing, life has seriously changed for him but I'm sure he will make the best of it. And who knows, with the way science and medicine is coming along these days he may be able to walk again one day. This case should be held in the "eye for an eye", "tooth for a tooth" kind of punishment. That may seem a little harsh to some of you but if he gets 11 years, whats to say he doesn't do it again? It's guys like that cop that make everyone question police whether they are good or bad cops.

That cop is a piece of shit, and that lawyer who was trying to over act the motion by thowing his elbow back even though it's nothing compared to the actual stance or motion of the victim. . . Well, he's a good lawyer! I hope the prosecutor is shit hot.

Went to the jury today. Ill keep ya updated. Lets just hope the jury makes the right decision here.

I wish we could apply this kind of Justice to Thomas White...

Sorry... Don't mean to throw in a laugh in a conversation that provokes thoughts of anything but laughter.... but I would really like to see White reap what he has sewn...
