I know fresh rida has a post about it but it made me think. How do your guy's brake light switches work? I have to keep cleaning the contact for my front brake light switch. The rear brake switch takes an extraordinary amount of pressure to activate the brake light as well. I do not feel safe knowing my rear break light doesn't light up just touching the brake pedal, if I were to replace them both, would they work that way? Is this a result of 35k on them?

Thanks

Ok. Took off my flyscreen and even my seat this morning to look for this (front brake) switch and couldn't find it! Where is this located??? So far, and suprisingly haven't gotten much feedback from my post. I'm hoping to have better luck from TechMagic's!

Please anyone! Any help would be really greatly appreciated! By the way, I ride an '03 XB9SL!

the front brake switch is located right in front of the brake lever. when you work the front brake you should hear a clicking sound. there is a couple of plugs going to it, pull them off and clean them [up]

Sorry Fresh, I just got back online. Like JOEL said, the switch is sort of integrated into the actual brake lever bracket on the handlebar. There should be leads going up the bars and into it, pull the plug free and use some high-grit sandpaper or your choice to clean the contacts.
