My 06 bolt has recently been brought back to life.....I haven't touched it in over a year (deployment) before I left I pulled the battery (no tender) it was the OEM battery anyway it did it's time and I put a good amount of stabilizer in it before I left.

Well came home looked at the oil puddle and thought to myself nope.

Soooooo I loaded onto the trailer and to it to my local shop (who all the guys there are huge buell fanatics) they drained the fuel and put new fuel in it did a oil change and they checked it over. I got a battery from a friend (due to tight budget) and they said it's all good BUT needs to be tuned (have a jaredine and breather re route) but I need the race ECM to do that. Well I get home try to start it it does all it's fancy things needle bounce etc. hit the kill switch on wait for engine light to go off. Hit start button and this bitch struggles. I mean hit button it almost starts and pauses thennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn boom starts. One time it sounded like it was shooting at me (clicking) you bros think I need a holy crap battery to turn this monster or what? Not a lot of room in there.

HALP :)

If it was clicking I'd check your connections, otherwise the battery was probably low or bad.

Well I do have a awsome battery charger and it also tests the battery and the battery checks out good and charges 100% I'm just not sure if it is putting enough cranking amps

I'll check the connections thank you

Really? Like dyno and all? What would I need to accomplish this epic task

Because the race ecm came with the race kit and was tuned to it. You can also buy ebr ecms tuned to specific exhausts

Bit there is no reason to actually buy a race ECM to tune the bike so it woolly run smother?

In that case I'm just guessing that all I need to get is a spy cable

Well went out checked connections and everything is pretty solid ground going from batt to the back was a little loose so I righted it up but when I tried to start it it sounded like it wouldn't get on rotation before clicking. Wouldn't start at all every time I tried to start it my clock would reset. So now I'm guessing I need a holy crap battery

I also have a voltage monitor gauge I bought for my truck it goes into a pod. I plugged it up to the battery (don't have multimeter) and it was measuring 11.9 when I hit the start button the gauge dropped to like 8.1v. But it started kind of. I let off the button too soon. But anyway I went to start it Agin and I guess the voltage was so low it made the gauge shut off and it started clicking. Guess it is the battery.

It kinda sounds like the battery. At the very least, you should have a healthy battery in place if you have to troubleshoot. The one time your bike doesn't start somewhere because of a marginal battery will be the time you really wish you had bought a new battery.

Well update

I went to the local bike shop (not Harley) and bought a holy crap battery (it barely fit) but now it turns over with no issue.

BUT it still is poping and choking and acting like crap up until it warms up.(about 20 min of riding) would tuning fix this issue? On occasion it also sounds like it's wants to die (I'm sure a idle reset would fix this issue) but I'm clueless how to accomplish this. Correct me if I'm worng but I'm guessing all I need to order is a ecmspy cable.
