buell factory right side scoop

I was told the same. Three weeks on and Ive just had the call today to say theyre here. Apparently they were on back order which means they come direct from the States.
Where in UK are you?

My fan came on today at shut off for the first time in week of riding, dang people driving below the speed limit, stoplights, and needing to swing by the gas station because my light had been on for a while.... If I would have gone straight home, I'm sure there would have no fan since I'd have been able increase speed and get some clean/cool air....

I don't mind that it doesn't match the other side. Afterall our bikes are frigging frankensteins anyway. I think besides being super cheap compared to the expensive ones, they add to the look of the bike..

Whoever posted that they bought theirs at Surdyke.com.
Thanks. their prices are great and even with the shipping they were cheaper than Glendale Harley.. home of the $300 1000 mile check..

lovecars, thanks!

surdyke is sold out of the screws, but they had the scoops. I just hope the Japanese hardware stores have the right allen-head screws. 10-32 is metric, so should be OK.

And LeFox, you probably realize, but it's a Euro vs. US thing. Europeans are willing to pay alot for something beautiful, whereas Americans want something functional, cheap. But I can guarantee that if you're still making 'em, in a couple years I will be in the market for a better-looking right side scoop. [cool]

I ordered my right side scoops and screws and they were all in, in about 1 week. I just got mine last week. Since Ive had it on the fan has not came on once. It is awesome. Best $60 I have spent so far. If you guys cant get screws go to McMasterCarr.com. They have all the hardware you will need. Hope it helps.

10/32, or 10/24? I looked at the hardware store and there weren't any 10/32. I'm guessing that's a #10 screw with 32 thread pitch. Anybody want to clarify/confirm?

I would buy the entire rider comfort kit. The piece that goes under the seat and around the rear shock does a great job of deflecting the heat. Istead of baking you, it is pushed out lower and fins direct the heat out to the sides.

I got the comfort kit; have any recommendations on the install under the seat? (Any tricks to watch out for?) Just don't want to mess up the battery/ECM?

Definitely want to get this installed .... my fan will run for about 5 minutes (it seems) after I turn the bike off.

10/32 is a US fine thread(not metric). Should be easy to locate. Your hardware store should have them.

Great stuff - just what I am looking for for my new XB12SS. I got this stuff on my wish list - Thanks!

Yeah, I bought tag screws at a different HWS than the one in my town, and they only had 24 pitch. Thx!

Well, the scoop came in yesterday. Picked it up today, and after some scrounging, found the proper socket head SS screws. For those who are planning to do this mod, the recesses for the screws are too small for washers. They probably aren't necessary, as you're tightening down on the brass sleeve in the outer scoop.

Unfortunately, I can't testify as to the scoop's effectiveness; TS Ida is making a mess of the Carolinas. [mad]

Who would be willing to buy one of these kits and post it to Australia for me?

Matt

I installed the right side scoop on my 09 XB12Scg and the fan still runs after shutting off the bike. Do I need the comfort flash as well? I didn't notice any difference......

Thanks for the help!

I installed the RSS on my 09 xb12ss and didnt notice any difference either. However I just had my first maintenance done and flashed the ecm with the riders comfort kit and so far I am inpressed. eventually while riding down the road it will come on after 15mph and then cuts off when I come to a stop. So far the bike runs a lot cooler.

Thanks, that's what I was hoping to hear. I think I will get the flash done by the dealer and see if it makes a difference.

My understanding is that on the '07 bikes (and earlier) there is no re-flash to do. Is this correct?
