Buell Firebolt fix with Lightining Parts

You will have to excuse my lack of knowledge but I have a few questions....

I know someone who is selling both a '05 xb9sx and an '05 xb12r. The 12r needs new forks due to an accident and the 9sx needs a new motor.

Could it be possible to take the two bikes and make one?

I was hoping I could switch forks from the xb9 to the xb12. I know the firebolt and lightining are two different types of bikes but how different are they and how interchangeable are these major components?

Any and all info/help is greatly appreciated.

I think the forks will swap but im not 100% sure. Use the search button at the upper left......it can be your best freind. I do know the motor will be a direct swap as well as the computer ....thats if you decide to go with the sx chassis insted.

im pretty sure you can just swap the forks, just double check the diameter of them i think they are 41mm if im not mistaken. but they should be interchangeable between a r and an s if they are both 05's. you should buy both and part out one of them, i need some of the sx parts. im sure other members would buy misc. parts from the one that isnt going to run or you could keep some for yourself as backup. let us know what you plan on doing. pm me if you want to sell some parts and let me know what you want to get rid of. good luck and welcome!
