You have missed the due date of said video its was supposed to be turned in a couple weeks ago you should have learned this last year in school. The effect of your 160 mph speeds will now be discredited, you will forever be the person that switched to chain drive because they could not back up their story, you have a iphone a pic could have been posted on here in seconds but it never happened, and don't blame that on dicks like me. Just tell the truth.

I think we're done here.

rrh481, feel free to start a thread when you have pictures of your chain drive, or proof of hitting 160.

This thread was awesome! I dont know about anyone else, but the first time I hit the rev limit in 5th at top speed I about chit myself- the sudden cut out scared me so bad Could not say how fast I was going because I not taking my eyes off the road at that speed(whatever it was). That was on my 03XB9R when I had finally got comfortable enough to look down when it would hit the rev limiter and it was about 135-140.I found it was not consistent on that bike, if you creeped up(not full throttle) it was closer to 140 if you ran up on it fast it was around 135. My 07 XB12R has never got to the rev limiter in 5th. I was in CO 6000ft , and it would max at about 130. everytime I was in a down hill situation there was too much traffic to attempt. I just moved to OK the bike is way stronger down here once I learn the roads(and cops) I may attempt a top speed run. It always surprised me how much stronger that 9 was on the top end. it had the factory race kit, and when I rode with 12's or tubers I would play catchup to about 90 and then just walk away from them.

I once did 110 in my mini van.
I knew she had more in her.
Just didn't want to push it.
The min van nationals were that weekend and I was on the street showing off for the kids.

Wow! That's amazing Tone!
If I didn't know you be such a fine upstanding honest gentleman, I would almost be tempted to wonder if there may... just may... be a slight bit of brown colouring to that story. ;)

I stumbled back into this forum(guess I was on here before, my computer remembered the log in) Trying to find out if a Uly had the same gearing as my bolt. Been really wanting a 12X for a long distance bike(getting too old to put more than a cpl hundred miles a day on my Firebolt-not so much the years just the mileage lol). One of the bikes I was looking guy told me it topped at 120. So thinking the Ulysses may had used XB9 primary gearing, I googled it and eventually led me to Buell top speed which landed me in this thread. I could not stop reading, it was great ! Some funny guys on here, it is also nice to see fellow Buell enthusiasts. All of my friends sold theirs about 2012, and got baggers. The metric guys in my old area(CO) kinda shunned me, and I found myself riding alot less. Hopefully I can meet some people down here in OK, I know I am gonna miss the curvy mountain roads.

@shotgun: I've found my uly struggles to go past 120 (not that I try often) I think it's just the added weight and lack of aerodynamics from the shape of a uly, the saddle bags, and even the wide tall riding position. But I assure you if you're crazy enough to tuck in and hold the throttle open long enough they'll go just as fast as any other 12 buell.

Except tone's, unless you've got a buddy with a Ferrari.

all 12's regardless of model have the same gearing.

At what speed does the rev limiter cut out a 09 XB12R?, Took the bike up to 120 and still felt like it had more!
