I wonder if he's just hearing the typical 1125 valvetrain clatter and assuming the worst? He's asking away too much if it needs an engine, but a great deal for the $800 I'd offer:black_eyed:

No way! It NEEDS a new engine... don't doubt this guy. Even at $800 its probably going to be a break even at best.

Here is something similar.

https://offerup.com/item/detail/900777316/

He said the lowest he will go is $2800.

But by the time you add in the stator ($220), R/R ($150) and battery ($100), and the crank locking tool ($75), that puts the price at $3350 before you can even hear it run.

Of course, for a new owner while one was in there, you'd want to do the EBR oiling rotor ($445) as this likely caused the above problem in the first place. Now we're up to $3800.

At that mileage, and since you have it partially apart, one would probably want to do a valve adjustment/inspection and check/replace the timing chain guides. ($200-300 ???)

And if its been sitting for awhile (a year or so according to the ad), the water pump seal probably needs to be replaced... and while you're there, you may as well replace the clutch slave with the Oberon unit ($150)

So, you'd be over $4000 invested to get it sorted, rolling the dice at every turn of the way.

Ring ring! Thats your phone Aaron:rolleyes: Opportunity is calling.

That is one of the prettiest 1125's I've seen in awhile. Thanks for posting SR:up:

If I do another watercooled Buell, it will likely be an EBR. Clean 1125's are commanding a premium and the gap between 1125 and 1190 is pretty darn close.

Aside from a BMW R9T, the EBR is really the only bike on my radar.... even though the BMW is truly the superior machine. :black_eyed::black_eyed::black_eyed::black_eyed::black_eyed:

That is a very good looking 1125, and in my 'hood as well.

And by the way, this is my ringtone.

My loss your gain! $5000 for a pile of tuber parts and a no-name frame with no title.

"come on you bike builders know what this is worth"!!

I wouldn't steal that pile of parts if you left the garage door open.

So this person road around on this SCG for 48000 miles and now because the key locks were messed up due to the bike being stolen he's giving it away even though if he fixes the key locks it will run great again, really ?

Common man !
