I am new here, but not to Buells. I loved them for 15 years, but they have their vicissitudes.
Due to some repetitive battery issues, my 1125 (2008) had to be roll started more times than I want to count. (30+) Fortunately I live in coastal Oregon and we have enough hills.
Starting conditions - I weigh 225 (240 with leathers, etc)
My formula:
*Roll down a serious hill in neutral until you attain 25 - 28 mph.
*Pull in the clutch and upshift to 5th gear (or even 6th if you weigh less).
*Let out clutch quickly but don't dump it.
*It'll start.
I had the back tire start coming around numerous times in 4th gear or lower- and it wouldn't start, just skid....
Hope this helps anybody with the misfortune to have that small battery give up, which is way too common. [mad]
