Ceramic coating.

The place that powdercoated my crossroads quoted me $18/ft to black ceramic coat my headers (about $100?). Sometime this winter if I can bear to have my bike down I'll try and get my headers off and get them done.

Look around for a local ceramic coating shop.

For the 2000deg black ceramic:

I payed $40 for my muffler and he said the header would be $30 since it would have less labor not being painted.

who did you use? I need to get mine done this winter

What is the difference between powder coating and ceramic coating??? Sorry if this is a newbie question....I just may be one in this department...lol

Just the kind of "paint" they use
They are commonly applied in the same manner But some ceramics are dipped too

Google sez:

Powder coating is an electrostatically applied paint process that is then baked @ 160 C to 210 C giving a surface that will not crack, chip or peel like conventional paint. Powder coating is commonly used on frames, wheels, parts & some intake manifolds.

Ceramic coating is a process where the part is sandblasted, painted with the ceramic, baked for 1 hour @ 500 degrees, and finally, polished in a tumbler for half an hour. Ceramic coating is used mainly on exhaust headers and turbo housings due to its ability to hold up under extreme heat.

I liked it, but I hate how skinny the xb9 headers are, and don't really feel like it would look as good on my bike.

I think the header wrap makes them look so much thicker.

I think your bike would look good with a red front caliper and red heel guards. I'm not crazy about the red header and rear sprocket.
