its time to put mirrors back on bike.i was sitting at a red light 2nd in line.then waamm guy rear ended the car in front of me.didnt even hit the brakes.i always pull to one side so theres nothing directly in front of me but he couldnt have me missed by more than a couple of inches.by the look of the cars i probably would have been killed or wish i had been.i see lots of riders that leave them selves no out and pull up directly behind vechicles.alway have an out it could save your life someday!

damn. yesterday me and the wife and 2 friends went out riding and three harley fucks were in front of us and decided to pretty much slam on thier brakes and make a left turn (without signal) into a spot to turn around. we were all doing about 55 down the raod (that was actually the speed limit too) and werent on there ass. i aimed for the ditch but didnt have to go that far thanks to the 8 piston front caliper :) and my two friends had to brake hard enought o lock up thier rear tires a lil and come within a foot and a half of t-boning the last retard to pull right in front of us. luckily my new rider wife was at the back of the pack. no one hurt. not as scary and your incident though. close call bud

made the mistake of telling my wife.didnt know she was going to cry for 20 mins.its been a few years since i had a cloes call like that.

Great piece of advice. I saw a guy rearend someone before and I worry about that all the time. Glad you were not hurt.

wow. glad you're OK man. Im really paranoid about getting rear ended. I saw a gnarly one on Friday after work. You think its better to be stopped off to the side at a light? To me it seems like I would be even harder to see if I was pulled over to the side. especially if i was on the passenger side of the vehicle approaching from behind.

i read once that if your directly behind a vechicle its harder to notice a bike.ive been pulling to the side for years it just made more sense to me.the two worst hits for us is head on and rear ended.if im first at a light i angle towards the right a little.in hopes of glanceing off a vechicle if i get rear ended.i dont know if either of these is the proper position"by the book"but im sticking with it.

Ive had a couple close calls about a dozen in my 3k miles. I got my couple lucky charms, but mostly I tell myself every time I get on that everyone is out to kill me and keep my head focused and on a swivel.
